Suppressors Latest recommendations for a 5.56 can?

Thanks for the feedback. I am looking more into the flow now. I have a Templar/Crux and mine has been surprisingly good. I have been lucky and not had the issues of many. I got the DTA .223 through Mark at SAC and I love that thing.

OG! I had one of those for a while. The were heavy AF but solid as a rock and reasonable quiet.

Nailed it. I don’t think I made my use case very clear and I don’t think many people read the previous posts, (I don’t expect them to because God knows I normally don’t). My question could be stated more simply….”what is the best performing dedicated 5.56 can for an 11.5” AR used for NV/IR...

Suppressors Latest recommendations for a 5.56 can?

Dang, I should have put that above in my list. I have a Dominus K but is pretty loud on my 11.5. Looks really good though. 😂 The polonium does interest me though. Or the ultra 5 in 6mm/6.5mm

Thanks for taking the time to post. I hadn’t seen the stuff on the sierra 5! I will mark that off the list.

Which 556 cans are you running? I have noticed a slight difference around 5.56 cans vs 7.62 cans. According to the internet, reliability questionable, you can see 1-3 db improvement. It doesn’t seem like much but given that db is exponential, it’s pretty significant and detectable to the human...

Suppressors Latest recommendations for a 5.56 can?

No mag dumps or anything. Mainly used for range commando sessions and hunting under NV/IR. No mag dumping or anything. Thanks for the feedback. Currently have a dominus, 338 ultra, crux .30 cal (surprisingly I have never had an issue with mine) and a .30 cal YHM ULT (purchased when I thought...

Edit: I love responses like this. People get so passive aggressive when you are inquisitive.

I hear ya. I have 3 30 cal suppressors and they all work well. I am just going for max suppression.

Suppressors Latest recommendations for a 5.56 can?

My main priorities are sound suppression level, durability, and length. A little weight never really bothered me, especially on an SBR, but I would go titanium again if it turned out to be the right option. Historically I have run Thunderbeast cans but they no longer make a 5.56. No budget...

The more I learn about the otter creek, the more I like it. It can be run with keymo brakes and uses adapters for the 1.375-24 thread.

Thanks for the feedback. Did you go k or full size on the 5.56?

Suppressors Latest recommendations for a 5.56 can?

I have a problem. I have 7 suppressors and not one of them is a dedicated 5.56 can. What is the latest craze right now? I am running a 11.5” SBR with adjustable gas and an LMT BCG so flow through doesn’t have much appeal to me. I could be convinced though. I have read they are quieter at the...

    6.5 Grendel 16.1 VS 22 inch

Ya. I don’t blame you for going shorter. I would take the 16” all day at that range.

    6.5 Grendel 16.1 VS 22 inch

It really depends on the distance you plan to shoot. Inside 300-500 you won’t see a huge negative. Drop the velocities in a ballistic calculator and see if the drop performance bothers you.

    BCGs “Optimized” for Suppressors

I shot the LMT today. It’s awesome. I could tell a significant difference on my SBR.

Found a sale on the LMT 5.56 and .308 BCGs and couldn’t pass it up.

I ended up calling to confirm with LMT. You can use their BCG with standard parts.

Oh nice! Dumb question, can I use my existing bolt, retainer and firing pin on this?
