    Optic for SBR 556?

I am kind of in agreement with @Docsherm on this. My general opinion is dot or dot + magnifier on 11.5" or shorter. 12.5" - 14.5" dot + magnifier or LPVO. 14.5" - 16" GP rifle LPVO 1-8 or 1-10. If running more of a precision roll / DMR 2-10 or 3-18 with a 12:00 dot.

    AAC 762-SDN-6 Pin & Weld

FYI AAC is making a new 51t adapter for threaded cans like Saker and Omega - https://advanced-armament.com/shop/accessories/adapters/51t-s-t-a-m-p-mount/ You can find it much leass from dealers.

    AAC 762-SDN-6 Pin & Weld

Yes. I originally sent in my AAC cans to ECCO to have them freed of 51t. But I never used my SDN6 because it was so heavy. For the price of a new can they will use your existing serial number: No issue with the ATF as its just like if you had catastrophic damage, they salvage the SN and...

    AAC 762-SDN-6 Pin & Weld

If you dont have an issue getting a stamp I would SBR the lower, sell the 16" barrel and get a new barrel in the length you want. I agree with @Bacarrat that P&W suppressors make cleaning a PIA. If your stuck on it, I would do one of two options to make it a direct thread: 1) send the SDN6 in...

OSS 7.62 or Omega 300 on 8" 300 blk build?

The OG Sig cans or the Q cans are what you want for quiet, low tone, 300 blackout super quiet.

OSS 7.62 or Omega 300 on 8" 300 blk build?

I dont really see the point of 300 blackout subs unless they are quiet and I would assume the Omega will be far quieter than the OSS.

Barrel for a 16" Recce build?

On the higher end, I would add Centurion Arms - https://centurionarms.com/barrels/ Monty's stuff is top notch And on the lower, I would add Sionics - https://sionicsweaponsystems.com/parts/barrels/ I think Sionics is one of the most underrated builders in the industry. I would completely trust...

    Kac dimpled barrels

They came that way to meet the weight requirements of a customer. The new 6.5 uppers have dimpling and from what I have heard are lasers.

    Kac dimpled barrels

I really don't think it does anything for resale unless someone's looking for that specific thing. If I was looking for resale I would probably just not shoot it and stick it in the closet. I definitely think as of right now there's an FDE value but that could go away. The markets are fickle.

    Kac dimpled barrels

Definitely think it's worth it on an APR. You would drop a tone of weight. I think the barrel probably warms up a little faster with less mass but also cools down faster but other then weight I didn't really notice. I would ask ns armory or presample Depot their thoughts.

    Kac dimpled barrels

Brought the weight of my 16" PC down to a 16" CC. You lose about a 1/2 lb. No issue with accuracy after the dimpling.

    custom build shooting large groups

If the barrel is a 1:10 twist, I would take the muzzle device off and shoot some 168gr gold medal match and see where you end up. I have not had luck with faxon barrels of any profile. Shooting a large frame is not the same as shooting an AR15. It took me a while to tighten my groups.

Quietest 300BO precision rig build. TB vs AE30 vs Liberty

There are other pieces to the puzzle other than just the can. If you are truly trying to make the gun as quiet as possible you will need an adjustable gas block. Suppression has a lot to do with tone. A suppressor can technically be rated to have fewer db but a can with a lower tone rated higher...

Buffer weight question using Vltor A5 tube

@Clayman is spot on. Generally, I run a Sprinco Green spring with an A5H2 but do run A5H1 on some of my properly gassed rifles. So to answer your question it depends on how gassy the barrel is. My gut tells me with a 20" barrel a A5H1 is probably the way to go.

Barrel for a 16" Recce build?

I think there was a time after Johnny passed when this was the case. All the stainless barrels I have seen from them as of the last year or two have been excellent.

Barrel for a 16" Recce build?

What is your definition of a recce gun? The traditional Naval Special Warfare side of the house answer is a 16" accurate stainless barrel (MOA) that is scoped. That was from mid-GWOT and has since morphed into today's SPR. Under that definition, the barrel needs to be accurate but can also take...
