I did a lot of research on this a while back and when ga precision released the 6.5 gap 4s the reamer specs had a .81 freebore designed for 140 Berger hybrids more or less. Now they use longer freebores since heavy for caliber bullets have come out. But yes 6.5 Saum and gap 4s are interchangeable
I’ve had good luck out of my mdt 12 round mag but I use a aw mag most of the time and most people say they are unreliable too and mines been super reliable
I bought some Otto noise barriers but they didn’t seem to block enough noise. My ears would ring after the first shot every time but that was with a braked rifle. They would be great for hunting, pistol, shotgun but they just didn’t fit my needs.
So I shot out my first barrel and I’m getting another cambered. My question is is there anything I need to do to my action, trigger etc while I have it all tore down?
I wonder if how the Smith threads the barrel can effect them coming loose. For example my smith threaded my barrel and had a muzzle brake and thread protector on hand (not mine) one would screw on all the way to the shoulder but the other one wouldn’t. So we tried my sidewinder adapter and it...
At work now but I’ll try leveling it up with the wedge again and checking with a plumb line hung at about 50 yards or so and let you know what I find. If it’s not straight I’ll use the flashlight method it seems kinda full proof. Thanks for all the help and suggestions
