    .338 for me is a go long kinda tool, so I prefer the free speed a longer barrel offers. I'd go 28 on the short side, 32 on the long end. If I had to carry it a lot, a nice lighter profile barrel at about 28 inches would work well for me. If stationary hunting I'd probably bias to longer.

    I'd bet something is lose. I've shot a lot of tavor and it will ring 100 yard steel and clays no problem. Could even be barrel worked loose, optic mount, bad optic, rail still come loose or another hidden screw loose.
