Night Vision Correct Simrad - M40A1

I really have no first hand knowledge of this, but I have been told that the Marine issued simrad is actually the kn 200.

    THINK ABOUT IT

Op, I hate to be the one to break the bad news to you, but very few people enjoy milling. Or eyeballing range, or missing a lot, which is what would happen if they were milling or estimating. Estimating doesnt get you many first round hits. Competitors compete because they find it enjoyable...

Night Vision Eurooptic has KAC PVS30 Army Buyback Grade A, $4700.

I have it on good authority that you do not want to use the pin hole covers. Unless you like black spots right in the center of your vision... I don't know how long it takes for that to happen, but at least one well known schoolhouse had quite a problem after using the pinholes for a bit.

Rifle Scopes FFP vs SFP for a do all

Sorry, my rant wasn't really directed at you, more the fact that these threads always seem to turn into SFP vs. FFP arguments . I think the advice you've gotten, as far as specific scopes, has been pretty spot on. Can we argue about anything else for you? :-) (humor)

Rifle Scopes FFP vs SFP for a do all

I totally agree, and don't disagree with anything you've written. It just seems that SFP vs. FFP comes up all the time here, and in many cases, people are looking to get equipment they don't understand, don't know how to use, and don't even know what they will really use it for. If you know...

Rifle Scopes FFP vs SFP for a do all

Again, I guess I'll be the dissenting voice. Equipment matters, and good equipment, chosen wisely, makes life (hits, in this case) easier. However, what really matters is that you know how to use what you have. Skill trumps most everything, and when you have skill, choosing equipment becomes...

so i guess keymod is going to be dead soon

Keymod is inferior to Mlok, but if you have a bunch of it, and you are happy with it, you'd be foolish to replace it at this point. Just don't keep buying more of it. I had one keymod firearm, very early on, and it was fine for its use. I just didn't buy keymod for my next gun, and when I...

Rifle Scopes FFP vs SFP for a do all

I have an SWFA3-15 FFP that is like new, in the optics section now. Comes with the Vortex covers and a zero stop shim. :-)

Rifle Scopes FFP vs SFP for a do all

I agree, and have done this for many years. The problem comes though that not all scopes mag ring numbers match up with the actual magnification. You have to test your scope and determine where the halfway point is. Then, even when you have the correct info, you have to look at the mag...

Who has built a "do it all" rifle?

For me, the Fix is the latest in a series that has spanned the last 20 years. Fun projects, but rarely do they do what you want, ime. Here's a Brockman custom in 308 from a few years ago, built on an M70 action. The TBAC brake on the end was just to see what it looked like, it is not actually...

Solid beginner's bolt gun for learning shoot long range?

Holy cow. This really is worse than not talking about rifles. Its like those dumb bumper stickers that say how a bad day fishing is better than a good day at work. And, since I get to shoot basically every. single. day. , I think I'll take my opinions, and my reading comprehension, and go...

Solid beginner's bolt gun for learning shoot long range?

Seriously dude? I actually mentioned that part in my post. Right up above where you added his quote. If you're having trouble finding it, Its the part in english. :-) Furthermore, I wasn't being snarky, I was trying to steer the conversation back out of the ditch. Here, I'm being snarky...

Solid beginner's bolt gun for learning shoot long range?

While its awesome how fast gun enthusiasts will fight with each other (sarcasm), I wonder if some of you might have missed the part where the OP said he has less than 300 yards at home, and only 600 at the range he goes to. None of that qualifies as long range. If you can't make hits at those...

Rifle Scopes What's the best way to move a scope to multiple rifles without re-zeroing?

Absolutely. I have a range out my back door. Pretty essential, I think.

Rifle Scopes What's the best way to move a scope to multiple rifles without re-zeroing?

The buy once cry once has nothing to do with only buying one scope. It has to do with spending the money on a quality piece of equipment. You cry once, because its expensive, then you are done crying cause it actually works. If you go cheap, you don't cry when you buy, but you cry every time...

    Sidearms & Scatterguns Thoughts? 9mm 1911

I have not found lightly sprung 9mm 1911's to meet my reliability requirements. If you have one that can go north of 50,000 rds without a malfunction, you have the only one I've ever heard of, that's for sure. Regardless of spring weight. I don't even know if I have ever seen a full USPSA...

    Sidearms & Scatterguns Thoughts? 9mm 1911

For the OP, here is one two of my friends did. Lots of good info on this blog if you look around. Unfortunately he died in 2016, so no more. http://pistol-training.com/archives/9352 Thinking about it further, I believe Rob Leatham shoots a 6" 9mm at Bianchi. If your main interest is open...

I never said the 5" guns were unreliable. I said they were sluggish. No reason to be rude.

Game Changer or Optimized Game Changer Bag for PRS

Love my saracen and commanche. I would say the saracen is slightly more stable, but I could be wrong. The commanche is much better for carrying around, no doubt.

    Sidearms & Scatterguns Thoughts? 9mm 1911

The slide is moving fairly slowly, and tends to "ka-chunk" back and forth. Most guys who shoot them seriously have gone to a commander size (really 4", up to 4.25") slide to reduce slide weight. Wilson was one of the guys on the forefront of figuring out how to make a 9mm 1911 as reliable as...
