    Sidearms & Scatterguns 22lr revolver identification/value/thoughts

Looks near identical to my Burgo that I bought for $25 bucks when I was in collage about 35 years ago. I drilled and tapped the top strap and mounted a weaver rail on it with a 1.5-4 weaver pistol scope, it actually shoots really well. Fun little back yard squirrel plinker.

    Highway exit renumbering......

I run from down by West Branch up across the Mackinaw bridge and over to Mellen, Wi regularly. I've gone 50+ miles at night without meeting a single vehicle many times. Real fun when it's damn near white out snow and I'm grossing 140,000+.

    Highway exit renumbering......

I did laugh when they put mile markers on US2 through Michigan's U.P. and started at the wrong end. they went up in number as you traveled west, the opposite of the standard. I wondered if the same guys had to take them down and redo it from the other direction and how long it took them.

Looks like I’m in the market for a new scope...

I hate having to use customer service but when I do I appreciate good service and in my experience Vortex provides it. I had the parallax knob on a 3-15 razor lh get all gritty and wouldn't adjust at all. I explained that i was in the middle of working up a load for my 35 Whelen for my fast...

Rifle Scopes Viper HS or Diamondback HP?

I've got 2 of the Viper HS. A 44mm on my 270 and the 50mm on my 257 Roberts. I would definitely buy again. I hunt fairly open farm country with shots from 20 yards to 400+ and like the higher power for the longer shots and don't feel handicapped with 4 power for the closer ones.

Hunting & Fishing Do you hunt for Horns or Venison

Usually shoot a doe for meat, always hoping one of the big boys show up. Filling the freezer on my 80 acres is easy, putting one on the wall is a whole other issue. Years of neighbors shooting the first thing they see with horns got the herd balance out of whack. Most of the old guys were dead...

Sidearms & Scatterguns So I Bought an XD

I've carried an officer size 1911 for many years and it's still my primary edc. I drive truck for a living and wanted more capacity for my truck gun, I had bought my wife a xds 9mm a couple years ago and kind of liked it. The XDM Elite 5.25 with 22 round mags fit the bill and it has turned out...

    Building Materials Spike !

Here in Michigan many mills shut down or slowed down for a bit. The lumber treaters I haul for are having trouble getting green wood to treat. The Mid Michigan lumber yards are also selling alot due to the rebuilding as a result of the flooding from the 2 dam breaches a couple months ago. The...

    Beef prices....

Picked a 1/4 beef up from the processor yesterday. my farmer friend charges 2.40 a hanging pound, I got a slightly better price than that. the processor charges .55 lb vacuum packed. The beef was aged 2 weeks. I have a hog to pick up next week. 200 for the pig, .55 for vacuum packing...

Maggie’s Funny & awesome pics, vids and memes thread (work safe, no nudity)

There is a Marbles Museum in Escanaba at the Upper Peninsula state fair grounds. I don't know if you could get ahold of anyone there until our POS tyrannical governor backs off on her shutdown crap or is over ruled.

Rifle Scopes Is this the new budget scope to beat? SWFA is on notice!

I put the 4-14 on my 280 Remington and really like it. I've only put a few rounds downrange so I don't know how it will hold up. The glass is really good for the price, my only complaint is the field of view seems a bit narrow compared to my Nightforce and various Vortex scopes.

Sidearms & Scatterguns 10 mm, where to start

i bought the Rock Island TAC FS with the rail to carry on Kodiak during my Brown bear/ Blacktail hunt. I put several hundred rounds through t before i went, never had any problems with several brands of ammo ranging from cheap low power to the Underwood 220g hard cast. It is kid of picky about...

    Pistol to 100 yards

Defiantly doable, I've shot my 10mm 1911 at 50 yards a bit, I don't think I'll push past that with the open sights. I used to shoot my scoped blackhawk at 100 yards almost every weekend and took a couple whitetails at close to that distance. Its been years since I've done any shooting at that...

    Hunting & Fishing Muzzleloader advice...

i tried 2 pellets but accuracy with that bullet wasn't there. 3 pellets has a kick to it but i don't think its that bad with the stock design. recoil seems more of a push than a sharp punch.
