    Remington 5R 20" vs 24" advice coveted

I have an 18" 308 and a 24". I think the decision between the two is going to be primary use. I shoot the 18" at shorter ranges and will use it this year when hunting. I still break out the 24" if I am going to be spending a majority of my range day over 600 yards. Both wear a sas arbiter...

Anyone have a review on the new Vortex Razor Spotters?

This is the first time I have ever heard of this, I had to look it up. What a cool idea. Seems like smart phones can do everything.

Rifle Scopes Am I going to be dissapointed with a bushnell HDMR?

I actually picked the Bushnell over a Nightforce. I was really impressed with it and the price was great. With the sell off of the older 5 mil turret version after the new one was released I will be very happy to pick up another one soon. I was really impressed when they were 1200 I have not...

Rifle Scopes New to mil to mil scope

I think this is a strange question. I have never heard of anyone converting inches to mils before. 1 mil=3.6 inches at 100 yards. So I would think you would take (3.6x#yards)/100. Then take the number of inches you want to move and devide it by your result of the first formula. That should...

Rifle Scopes Tactical Scope With Best Glass For $2000?

I have one of the leupold mk6 scopes and they are really a big step up from the mk4 line. I have been really impressed. I also have a Razor HD and it is a really good scope. The bushnell is going to be competitive in the low light performance dept but does not have an illuminated reticle.

    Lumimox "Navy Seal" watch questions

He is making a joke. It is a reference to a tv show, Get Smart, in the 60s and 70s where the main character had a bond gadget style watch that he put to good use as a super spy. It was a satire style comedy and pretty popular at the time. The main character, Maxwell Smart, had a catch line...

    Recommendations on small medic pouch

Call these guys and talk to them. I knew nothing about what to buy and they were very helpful and did not try to up sell me. Austere Provisions Company They have kits available, they can build kits and they can give you a lot of good guidance. They recommended a kit for me which I later had...

    Accident vs Negligence

Huh...this is an interesting read. There seems to be a lot of emotion in this thread. I am surprised that a very short, four paragraph, article with such limited information has sparked so much debate with people taking such hard lines. The article is not particularly insightful, has nothing...

Picking up my new AAC-SD at the FFL soon; is the Hogue iovermold stock complete crap?

The rifle looks good. I hope it shoots. You can fill the holes with epoxy and use a dab of tan paint to cover it up. No one would ever know. That's really nice of someone to help you out too.

Rifle Scopes Recommended tool for general torquing of scope/rifle?

Yes...the borka comes in a great kit in a nylon pouch with everything you would need for general field maintenance and then some. I use that thing all the time for one thing or another.

Rifle Scopes Useable magnification range of bushnell Xrs, hdmr, and vortex razor

So my experience, which I am no oracle, tells me that you would be very well served with the lower magnification. Over magnification is common to new shooters. At least that's what I tell myself since I did the same thing. :). I did not have scopes with these amazing power ranges to choose...

Rifle Scopes Useable magnification range of bushnell Xrs, hdmr, and vortex razor

Without actually handling the scope I would not really have an idea if this would work. Every scope model is different. I have heard this logic before from friends but they usually end up using it on high power any time they can anyway. I would call Scott at liberty optics and see what he...

Rifle Scopes Useable magnification range of bushnell Xrs, hdmr, and vortex razor

. Since you are looking at those two and they are virtually the same price it is a hard call. The thing that made the bushnell so desirable to me was the price at $1200. It was a no brainier for a second scope. Just an FYI when you move to the 10 mil per rev turret they do not "feel" quite...

Rifle Scopes Useable magnification range of bushnell Xrs, hdmr, and vortex razor

I have the hdmr and the razor. I really like both scopes. I think it really comes down to the features you want. I use the hdmr and the razor on 308 rifles. If you need a few revs out of the turrets I really like the zero stop on the razor. If you are sticking under 10 mils I don't mind the...

No rings but it does come with a lot of nice other accessories.

should I go chassis or normal stock?

This could not be more true. I'm sure I have wasted enough money to buy a surgeon rifle by now buying gear that I thought was just good enough and replacing it. Have I learned my lesson yet...not sure. I bought an AICS chassis and while it is awesome a traditional stock like a manners or a...

    First Build w/Pics

You can always pick up a bushnell 3.5-21 with the 5 mil per rev turrets. I have been very impressed with this scope. It would complement that rifle nicely and probably be half way between a nightforce and the PST on price. Great looking rifle.

Tactical Shooters Equipment - What the pros use...

I think someone asked why no AIs in the top running but I don't think anyone asked why so many stocks vs Chassis in the top group. I think mcmillan and manners made up the bulk of the category? What do the Stocks offer that the chassis do not? Thanks
