    Night Vision Range Finders

If someone were to do this, please, PLEASE include an electronic anti-cant indicator like the Raptar S has. I currently use the output of the PVS-27 as a back light so I can see my tube-mounted bubble level, but that only works for <40mm objective scopes mounted low relative to the clip-on.

    Night Vision Range Finders

Yep, the ~$350 that Brownells was blowing them out for back in 2017 would be a tough act to follow. I saw the incredible potential for night shooting and bought a couple, but should have gotten more. Hindsight is always 20/20. In low/no light you can range reliably out to absolutely absurd...

Night Vision Perst 2 VS LA5B IR Laser

Interesting. I found the DBAL-D2 to be lacking compared to a PERST-3. I don't recall which generation the PERST was, but it was quite obvious which one was laser based and which was LED. Can you elaborate on why you like the D2 compared to other market alternatives? I really like my D2, but...

Night Vision Clip ons clip ons clip ons!!!

Exactly what I've been thinking for years. If my old German Zeiss Z51 NV riflescope had that feature (albeit not for the same reason), why not integrate into a multi-role thermal?

    Vortex lht 4.5-22 durability test

Spicy! I repeated my cold weather test of the controls and it came out the same as before for me. No mush, worked fine. The mag ring is stiff but didn't seem to get measurably worse after four hours in freezing temp. That is, of course, my sample size of one scope. Hopefully tomorrow or...

    Vortex lht 4.5-22 durability test

Yikes! I'm going to try to replicate this test to some extent in the next week or so. Mine is mounted to a lightweight 16" 6.5 Creedmoor gas gun, which will not exactly be easy on optics in the first place due to the heavy reciprocating mass. Luckily, the scope I had on it for the last year...

Night Vision Clip ons clip ons clip ons!!!

Unless this was done as a sort of "floating menu" where the position and size could be adjusted by the user if necessary, I can see this causing more serious issues such as cluttering up exactly where your reticle is. With the 13G, the menu moved to the centerish of the screen when you put it...

Night Vision Clip ons clip ons clip ons!!!

I'm guessing there is a back story here? I recall seeing a cooled thermal clip-on in the PX and remember Felipe, but must have missed something else.

Night Vision Clip ons clip ons clip ons!!!

I have to ask, is the INOD in that picture (at least it looks like an INOD, please correct me if I'm wrong) really as good as people say? If the performance of my AN/PAS-13G at 200 yd was a 3 out of 10 for me, approximately where would that thing fall? The only MWIR device I have ever played...

    Night Vision L3 LWTS

I owned a 13G for four years, it was the tits when I bought it in 2014. It is no less effective of a unit today than it was then, but its cost effectiveness compared to other available devices has steadily declined, IMO. I paid $10k for mine and got more than that out of it when I sold it...

Rifle Scopes Us optics TS 12x

Has anyone used one of these behind a clip-on night vision device? If so, how did it do? I've had surprisingly good results in this regard with other optics in this price range, so anyone who wants to tell me S&B or bust for clip-ons can kindly keep it to themselves. My PVS-27 seems to be...

    Rifle Scopes Vortex LHT 4.5-22x50

I like mine so far. The magnification ring was stiff at first but has lossened to about perfection with some use. I should be able to check tracking next week.

Night Vision Clip on NV Alternatives for .22LR

A PVS-27 or -30 would work for that, and come in well under $15k. The 27 is like a delightful set of perky D cups, everything you ever wanted even though a little heavy.

Best subsonic round out to 200 yards

I belive you have arrived at a sensible conclusion. I love my suppressed 300 Blk with SUBX/PVS-27/Radius, but if the nearest "nosey neighbor" is 600-700 yd away I would most certainly be using a suppressed gun with supers. Counterdetection of a suppressed rifle with any sort of fine...

How do you find distances for long range shots in night?

I use a SWR Radius mounted to the rifle or spotting scope, it works great and will range out to absurd distances in low/no light. There were also a bunch of Northrop Grumman MkVII NV-equipped laser rangefinders that hit the market over the last year or so. I didn't buy one because they look...

    Rifle Scopes Vortex LHT 4.5-22x50

I am really liking these on paper. For anyone that has compared these to a gen 2 PST 3-15, how do they compare optically? To be honest, the gen 2 PST 3-15 and Viper HS-LR 2.5-10 scopes that I have several of look spectacular to me optically. I'd prefer locking, exposed elevation, capped...
