    Didn't see where you posted the specs, but I'm sure it'd be a shooter. Might as well go for it. I just ordered a proof carbon, which is cut so I am hoping they are great. Not really too concerned that it won't be. Now if I could only mentally will my tl3 to show up I'd be in business

    Proof makes cut and button barrels. At that price, I'd venture to says it's a button, but can't say for sure obviously just guessing.

    I also just built my friend a 28 nosler on a grayboe stock and it was decent. It took more fitting than I prefer, but finish was nice and overall was good for the money.

    Gunsmithing Throating Reamers

    I've been using throating readers on my last couple, but if I was doing it for anything other than for myself and a couple friends, I'd get readers to my spec. Not hard but very time consuming for me. I'd rather cut the chamber and be done.

    For a short range thumper, I'd look at the biggest bullet I could shoot in a short action cartridge. 350 sounds like it might be the ticket. I don't have any experience with a cartridge like I mention, but a saum or wsm has far more potential than 200 yds. Not that it wouldn't work, but why not...

And buying blanks saves me about $100 per so I thought it'd be a wash after a couple years and then I'd have the taper attachment for other uses like you said.
