Please help! Had my gun taken in Oklahoma....

It's just Oklahoma small town cops. Difference between them and the guys they lock up is which side of the bars they're on. Good luck getting help, but a lawyer is the best bet in your circumstance.

    Crazy Effin Linemen

Worked my way up from Grunt to journeyman in about 4.5 years. Year 1 was learning the finer points of a spoon on a crew setting 90 footers. If any of you know what a spoon is then you know how much fun it wasn't. I truly do not miss winter storm call outs having to climb in the ice. I miss...

    Went to a crazy auction

It sounds as though they had a good autioneer who knows how to read the crowd and up the price with phantom bids by non-existant customers. It's a lesson in marketing as lectured by W.C. Fields.

    Explosion in West, Texas

Happened about 1915 this evening. City of west is 15 minutes north of Waco. Details are spare but looks like fire at fertilizer plant got away from the fire department and hit the various fertilizers. Helicopter video looks real bad. If you pray, now would be a good time.

    Ammo and phone numbers???

If you're old enough to remember, part of GCA '68 required that a retailer log all sales of ammunition that was suitable for use in a revolver or pistol. Log included the buyer name, phone and DL number and address. All this accomplished was to boost sales of spiral bound notebooks for about 2...

Re: Tasco Super Sniper VS SWFA Super Sniper Same scope. Same factory that has always made it. Tasco was a marketing agency just like swfa.

CTD = scum of the Earth

Re: CTD = scum of the Earth Saw these on sale at a pawn shop in east Texas on Tuesday. $99.00 each, new in wrap. I should say, I saw the spot on the floor where several empty cases of these sat. Shop sold several cases at that price. It's all about the market, not a moral imperative to...

    AR Dealers going dark?

Re: AR Dealers going dark? Last time we did this I was traveling quite a bit. Had instructions from a local gun shop owner/friend to buy and ship any firearms and ammunition I found to his shop, at which time he'd pay a 25% commission over the purchase price, as he could not find anything to...

    GB non paying bidders

Re: GB non paying bidders That sort of thing is happening on this forum more frequently. A buyer with 1-25 posts does an I'll take it, gets your payment info, and is never heard from again. On this forum I quit responding to buyers with less than 300 posts.

    Springfield M21

Re: Springfield M21 Take a look at the trigger gaurd at the point where it locks into the floor plate. It may be worn and not properly engaging the mating surfaces. Also possible is that the trigger gaurd itself is bowed from disassembly, causing improper tension at the locking point. You'd...

    Is it Gouging or....?

About 90 minutes ago I'm in a small local gun store looking for a taper crimp die. The place had a decent crowd, all with cash in hand, well, plastic in hand, the economy doesn't have cash any longer, and watched as remanufactued, non-name brand 223 was going for a doallar a cartridge. No one...

    M1a Prices

Re: M1a Prices I tired for over a year to give one away at 60% of wholesale, with mags, scope, rings, mount, bag and ammo. Do not feel the least sorry for those who are looking now.

Is there a run on reloading supplies?

Re: Is there a run on reloading supplies? Bought powder and primers from a local source on Friday. Was advised by the counter guy to get all I wanted right then, as things were going fast and I wouldn't like the prices on Monday when the replacement inventory was supposed to arrive. So I did...

    Disaster profiteering?

Re: Disaster profiteering? These people who are selling the rifles and ammo do so with the understanding that they can't get any more. What they sell most likely can never be replaced. Poor planning seems to make for proper whining on the internet.
