Range Report First scope box test.

As long as it is repeatable/consistent you are good to go. Just account for it and you will be good to go. This is why when people have trouble with the ballistic program they are using giving them poor solutions, the first thing I recommend is checking the scope as you did. Most often they are...

Lapua to be producing 50 BMG Match brass - avalable in the US in early April '14

Man we already have high BC 180 grain 7 mm, we need to go up like they did with the 215 and 230gr 30 cals. Something like a 190 to 205 gr 7mm, somewhere in there, with a short bearing surface like the berger hybrid design.

    Your pets loads for 7mmRM

It seems like the published 7rm data is very very conservative, at least with the slow powders. In my rifle it has been anyway.

Range Report First scope box test.

It appears that the scope gains one extra moa in elevation on the way to ten moa, and then tracks true after that. Looks like your zero is good but all other groups were about one moa high. Did you see that result on steel as well?

    HELP; pierced primers 6.5 CM

An oversize firing pin hole can cause this, you can have it bushed, but before we get to that tell us more about the failures to fire.

    Sticky bolt question

Do you grease the lugs at all? And how sticky are you talking, just a little more than usual drag or do you have to hit the bolt with your palm to turn it?

Does Sniper's Hide really need the constant flow of LE bashing?

I don't know, I just hit edit and it did it. I wish I was half as computer savvy as some people these days. I did it soon as I posted, you must have been quick on the reply. Frank is right about this place not being able to solve the deepening divide between our government, or more to the...

So slinky, does your avatar make you a pirate, a cop, or.....both? Or is it Mr Slaughter?

Bore diameter of Rem M24 (and 5R)

You could slug it and measure the slug, but why?

As far as 7mm cartridges go, can the 280 Rem. be made into very accurate rifle?

Why mess with a 280ai and fire forming, or hard to find brass when you can just go 7mag and be done? Load it to whatever level you want. It will shoot 162amax at 2800 or 3100, your choice. One of the top three most popular cartridges so u can buy factory ammo anywhere or hand load.

Does Sniper's Hide really need the constant flow of LE bashing?

I appreciate the reason and arguments here. I am glad this country still has thinking men, gives me hope. It is possible to have a philosophical discussion without petty insults and I think Moses and EH have quite a bit in common on their viewpoints. Moses I agree that where things are headed...

    An Apology to Berger Customers

Certainly a stand up post but I think most will view it as unnecessary. Shooters know the quality of what Berger is putting out. That being said, if there is anything to apologize about it is that I don't have any 195grain 7mm Hybrids to shoot!

    Grain weight accuracy

Greg is correct. H1000, Retumbo, and the like are very dense powders with heavy grains, so you have to trickle them slow, a kernel at a time.

    Grain weight accuracy

I use a hornady LnL auto charge powder dispenser, and then double check on a beam scale for precision loads. This makes for very consistent charges. I would recommend you get a beam scale to double check. Having consistent powder charges is important.

Range Report Conflicting data at different distances... Long range 6.5 Creedmoor

The powder temp setting is to correct for velocity variance based on temperature. Your muzzle velocity will vary with temperature because gun powders are more energetic at higher temperatures. Collect muzzle velocity data on cold days and hot days, and use that to calculate how many fps you gain...

Does Sniper's Hide really need the constant flow of LE bashing?

This site has more patriotic, liberty minded, enthusiastically American participants than any site I have ever participated in. It also has the best info on the web on the art of precision shooting. These populations are one and the same. Maybe the question the OP and his buddies at the...

Range Report Conflicting data at different distances... Long range 6.5 Creedmoor

If you haven't box tested the scope on a tall target at 100 yards or so start there. You may find that the scope is not tracking like you thnk it is.

Rifle Scopes FFP Why would one have one if?

Has anyone heard of any scopes that have a portion of each reticle in both planes? A smooth crosshair in the SFP and mil or moa graduations in the FFP? Is there an engineering reason this couldn't be done?

Rifle Scopes FFP Why would one have one if?

For some reason the site isn't letting me edit the above post. Autocorrect changed "second focal plane" to "sexing focal plane" which also sounds interesting. Lol

Rifle Scopes FFP Why would one have one if?

LL's post is really the last word on SFP vs FFP for now, at least until they make changes to scopes. But think about this. Wouldn't it be cool if a FFP scope had a reticle where the hash marks remained true but the line thickness of the crosshair itself didn't change so it remained easy to...
