I live in Rexburg for about 6-8 months out of the year, and Seattle area the rest of the year. I bet y'all can guess what I'm up to living in Rexburg.

Rifle Scopes Help me pick a Steiner..

Are the new Burris XTR II's really up to the same quality and glass level of Steiner's?

Rifle Scopes Vortex Razor HD 5-20 mil/mil?? Other mil/mil considerations

Another vote for the SWFA SS 5-20. I'm a huge fan of them. I have used the Razor and they are good scopes and built well, but I had one complaint with the scope that I couldn't look past (literally and figuratively). I've had the SS 5-20 since and have been very pleased all around.

Rifle Scopes Help me pick a Steiner..

I have the 3-12x56 and I love it. I think it is a great scope. I have it mounted on an AR15, although its quite big, it makes for a great SPR scope for my needs. I am impressed with the scope and will hang on to it for a good while. As a side note, if you are wanting more power with limited cost...

Rifle Scopes Weaver rings on Picatinny rail

I've used the same Weaver rings you are after on my picitinny rail on my 308 rifle with no issues. I think you will be good to go with using them on your rifle.

    Rifle Scopes Trijicon TRAS 3-15X50

I haven't used one, but I handle one for about an hour at a gun shop. The glass is excellent! The turrets and construction are very solid. The clicks on the turrets are very positive, tactile, and audible. The MOA reticle in the 101 model is the best reticle design they offer. I prefer mil...

Rifle Scopes Scope base for Remington 700

I have the scope in a bobro mount so I shouldn't experienced any stress being transferred to the scope with the base being off that small amount. Good point though.

Rifle Scopes What's the best scope choice for a 308 win?

I've bought quite a few scopes used. Just make sure the brand of scope you are buying has a good warranty should you need it. I've had no issues buying scopes off of this site. It seems like there are plenty of options and honest sellers on Sniper's Hide's for sale section. I wouldn't hesitate...

Rifle Scopes What's the best scope choice for a 308 win?

I would recommend getting a used SWFA 5-20 HD scope so you can stay close to the price point of the mk4. I really like the scope and think they are a great value.

    Rifle Scopes Am I crazy?

I've been lusting after an alpha scope for awhile now, so given the price of the 4x Steiner scopes on EuroOptic I took the plunge and bought the 3-12. It's a great scope and you can see why the price was once double the price I paid. I've had the chance to shoot with other range go'ers alpha...

Rifle Scopes Scope base for Remington 700

I feel that on my rifle it was more the action than the base. I checked the base for straightness before I installed it and it appeared to be dead on. When I mounted it it had a .003" gap on the rear of the base and action. I just bolted it down and called to good. I could be crazy, but I can't...

Rifle Scopes Can you identify this scope?

The turrets look reminiscent of USO knobs to me. It does appear to be a quality scope. I'd be happy to take it off your hands for a good hand shake if you don't want it.

Rifle Scopes Scope base for Remington 700

I have the Weaver Extended 20moa base. It's a really good base, especially for the price. Lonewolfusmc aka John @ 8541 tactical did a review on them as well and has good things to say about them. They have a recoil lug on them and are good quality. I know that there are better or higher quality...

    Rifle Scopes Am I crazy?

I recently bought a Steiner 3-12x56 and I have an SWFA SS 5-20x50 HD. I have been looking through the scopes and trying them on various powers comparing them, and the glass seems to be equal. I also have been playing with the turrets and all the other stuff and I like the way the turrets feel...

Rifle Scopes Medium to Long Range Scope for this Custom AR15

Your question about illumination of the SWFA 5-20, it's only visible in low light & dark conditions. It's lit only as the very center of the reticle, so about .05 mil square. It's good illumination for it's intended purpose, but don't think of illumination as ACOGs deliver. If you are going to...

Rifle Scopes Medium to Long Range Scope for this Custom AR15

I'll try to tackle your questions. The major jump in price for the SWFA 5-20 HD (2 models illuminated ($1500) and non illuminated ($1300)) is for the jump in glass quality, locking ocular adjustment, thicker aluminum tube, better fit and finish, 10 mil rotation knobs, etc.. There are a bunch of...

Rifle Scopes S&B 5-25 or Vortex Razor HD Gen II 4.5-27

You really can't go wrong with either. I'm a big fan of Steiner scopes, for the money they are hard to beat. They also have the T5Xi line coming out at an incredible price point.

Rifle Scopes Medium to Long Range Scope for this Custom AR15

I've had the SWFA 3-15 scope and they are really nice. The glass and tracking are excellent, especially at the $700 price point. I can vouch for SWFA's warranty and customer service, it's top notch and no questions asked. The only complaint that I have about their 3-15 is the turret knobs, I...
