Rifle Scopes So many 1-4 Options

Sounds like you are going to want a Vortex Viper PST with your requrements. The best 1-x scope I've owned is the Trijicon Accupoint. I'd recommend a Leupold VX6 1-6x also, they are good optics for the money. You can also get the killer Steiner 1-4x from EuroOptic for $875 plus a SH discount if...

Rifle Scopes Is anyone out there doing thorough tracking tests on their scopes?

It also depends on what your scope's notion of 1 milliradian is, because the NATO milliradian differs from the mathematical definition of a milliradian. A mathematically accurate radian is that part of a circle where 2 * PI radians is a full circle, and a milliradian is 1/1000th of a radian, so...

Rifle Scopes Is anyone out there doing thorough tracking tests on their scopes?

I could be totally off bases on this, but shouldn't a mil based scope be tested at 100 meters? In my thoughts I would think there would be a discrepancy with accuracy between shooting the test at 100 yards and 100 meters. If someone could explain my though to confirm or correct my thought. Thanks!

Rifle Scopes SWFA 10x42 problem (please help!)

It's possible that if you went to a higher elevation than where you typically live, the small volume of air that is in between the turret caps and the turrets expanded causing them to pop off. Just a though, but I'm not too sure.

Rifle Scopes Medium to Long Range Scope for this Custom AR15

I'd say you've pretty much already made a wise choice aiming towards the Bushnell DMRG2. That scope is a good all around performer and it's also compact and will fit nicely on an AR based rifle. The other scope I'd mention to look into since you are military is the Leupold MK6 3-18. If the price...

    Rifle Scopes Steiner military 5-25x56

The other piece of the puzzle with the price is the added cost to have parts and components made by German union workers. Look at the difference in cost with US work between union and non union employees.

Rifle Scopes Base rail and scope ring selection

With the base, I'd opt for a 20 moa. Those seem to pretty much be the standard these days, and some folks even go with 40 moa. 20 moa will be plenty for most scopes to get out to 1000yds with 308. As far as the rings go, you are paying for quality, precision, design, and reliability. I can...

    Rifle Scopes Steiner military 5-25x56

If you read the tread on the new Steiner scopes, you will see that the difference in the price has little to do with the quality of the scope and primarily with the taxes and tariffs that are charged on the M5xi line of Steiner's. The T5xi line of scopes is basically an updated version of the...

    Barrel Selection?

I'd highly recommend a Blackhole Weaponry barrel. They are very accurate and come at a good price. You can also get them from Rainier Arms rebranded by Rainier as their Select Barrels.

    Rifle Scopes Steiner military 5-25x56

I don't have either scope, but I do have a Steiner 3-12x56 Military. I'm very happy with the scope and I want to buy a the new Steiner 5-25 when it's out. From what I've read, there are only subtle differences that make the S&B better, and there are subtle differences that make the Steiner...

Rifle Scopes Ring/Mount Suggestions for Mark 8 to Nemo OMEN

You can't go wrong with any of the following: GDI, Sphur, Bobro, Alamo Four Star, and the best for last.....NC Star (just kidding). Any of those mounts will serve you very well and will all do well with returning to zero. If money is no option, I'd get the GDI. If money is not growing on trees...

Rifle Scopes 5-25 PM2 on an AR -which cantilever mount?

The mounts that I'd recommend are the Bobro engineering dual lever mount, and the Alamo Four Star DLOC mount. Some folks on here like the American Defense Mounts, but I'm not a fan personally. I'd steer clear of the LaRue mounts all together, they have a flawed design and their mounts are...

Rifle Scopes SWFA 5-20x50 -how many versions ?

Kiba got you squared away with the changes made to the scope. I have a cattail on mine, and it makes a big difference being able to manipulate the mag ring. I'm going to buy cattails for all my scopes from here on out.

Rifle Scopes Please HELP! Is This A Good Deal?

I'd take an ACOG any day over an Eotech. Just make sure that it's not a military scope, get the serial number and call Trijicon to be sure.

Rifle Scopes BOBRO Single or Double Lever Mount?

I have used the 30mm single lever on a 308 win with great success. With your rifle having quite a bit stronger recoil impulse I would suggest going with the dual lever mount just for the precaution. The Bobro mounts are some very nice units too, so you can't go wrong with either.

Rifle Scopes Suggestions for high quality 34mm Rings

I just got an Alamo Four Start DLOC 34mm mount, and its pretty stinking nice. I have a few very minor changes that I would make to the mount, but that's just the engineer side of me, the function side of me says A+. I have also heard that the Sphur mounts are very nice, but they come at a hefty...

Rifle Scopes Vortex 2.5-10x32 vs SWFA 3-9x42

I'd probably go with the SWFA. You will get what you want in the scope, and you won't be paying extra for stuff you don't want. Sounds like a win win with the SWFA.

Rifle Scopes Trade - NF NXS for SS HD?

One thing I noticed reading through the post's in this thread is that a lot of the comparisons are made between the SWFA and the NF F1 and ATACR. The OP's scope that he is looking to trade off is an NXS, not the much more expensive F1 or ATACR. I've heard that the glass on the F1 and ATACR are...

Rifle Scopes SWFA SS 5-20x50 HD vs Leupold Mark 6 3-18x44

I forgot to update the thread, incase anyone wants the update. I got the new scope from SWFA in the middle of June, and I'm impressed with the new scope. The glass seems to be much better, and the turrets are crisp with no slop. They fixed the issue with the spines of the turret knobs, and...
