Seeking advice on Tikka barrel length and trigger style.

Thank you all. This is all great info. Just one thing I probably wasn't clear on. I do not intend to compete with this rifle. I'm interested in it for a couple of reasons. 1) I can make accurate and cheap ammo for it quickly. 2) my daughters can shoot it. 3) Its going to drift more...

Seeking advice on Tikka barrel length and trigger style.

Hi all, I am hoping to shoot some PRS or rimfire PRS matches for the first time in the spring. I live in the Northeast so there aren't a lot of opportunities to shoot really long range. I own some land in NH and am able to shoot out to 600 yards. I've been shooting a Kidd .22 and am in the...

OK to dry fire a Bergara B14

So let's put a finer point on it. I've got several 10/22s I can actually do dry fire practice with. I understand that a lot of dry fire has led to broken firing pins in Bergaras. But my biggest concern is contact with the breech face. So if the risk is a broken firing pin after hundreds...

OK to dry fire a Bergara B14

Hi all. Does anyone have any info on whether or not it's ok to dry fire a Bergara B14 Rimfire rifle. I sent a message to Bergara this week and have not heard back. Thanks

Do Savage bolt sleeves help with slop, or are they just eye candy?

Thank you all. I'm going to leave it alone. Like I said, the gun is a shooter. I'm a small time FFL and purchased a similar rifle where the barrel not parallel to the receiver and it was not right at all. I mentioned it to another FFL friend and he mentioned he knew a VP at Savage, so I...

Do Savage bolt sleeves help with slop, or are they just eye candy?

Thank you. One more question. I'm having second thoughts. The Pacific tool website says that once you change the sleeve, you will need to re-true the lugs *ATTENTION* Be Advised: Bolts may need to be fitted to receiver. The bolt locking-lugs will likely need to be trued to your receiver...

Do Savage bolt sleeves help with slop, or are they just eye candy?

Thank you. It was easy enough to measure the bolt (.701 inches) but how would I go about measuring the raceway. I'm guessing I'd have to remove it from the stock and then I'd have good access from below to get a vernier caliper in there.

    New to the 10/22 game

My Kidd is 1 moa at 50 yards with CCI Standard Velocity. It opens up considerably at 100 and goes all to hell at 200. I've just acquired some higher end ammo and am pretty confident it will do much better at 200 with the better ammo. I'm a relative novice at rifle shooting compared to most of...

    New to the 10/22 game

If you are on a budget and have a Ruger already, consider Randy at CT Precision Chamber. For a bit over $200 he will 1) cut and rechamber your barrel 2) true the breach face of your barrel 3) rework and true your bolt 4) crown your muzzle 5) tune your trigger 6) drill a cleaning hole in the...

Do Savage bolt sleeves help with slop, or are they just eye candy?

HI all. I searched and didn't find this specific question answered. I have a Savage 10 that was built for me as a blue printed custom shop job, as a favor. It shoots great, especially for what I spent, but I'm looking to see if there is any reasonable way to clean up the extreme slop in the...

Except that its actually very wrong. CT has crappy gun laws but is essentially shall-issue for what CT people call a Pistol Permit. MA is equally though differently bad, but also very straight forward to get what MA people call a License To Carry. No justification or need is required to...

Rifle Scopes Best FFP Scope on Sale to use alongside RDS- 18" 6.5G General Purpose

With most of the Nikon stuff now half off, I was able to pick up one of their "tactical" models for my Kidd .22. Its a mil/mil scope and seems very well made. In a very quick box test at home with a laser bore sighter, the scope appears to return to zero well. The glass is surprisingly clear...

Rifle Scopes OPTICS NOT MADE IN CHINA.

I am not challenging you but do you know the names of any of these US sources. I'm curious. I figured that SOMEBODY makes lenses in the US. It was just my understanding that the market is in either scientific or medical imaging.

Rifle Scopes E.D. Glass the new marketing term for optcs?

I completely agree with the original poster. 20 years ago, all the best Nikon lenses and spotting scopes were ED, and you paid thousands for the privilege of using one. They also painted them tan to differentiate the ED products. Now it seems that you can buy a tan painted ED branded lens...

Rifle Scopes OPTICS NOT MADE IN CHINA.

The reality is that there aren't any sources for made in the USA Glass. So everyone at the very least builds scopes in the US with foreign glass. In the better scopes the glass comes from Germany or Japan. Also keep in mind that one of the differentiating factors is the glass coatings used...

Rifle Scopes Need some guidance on scope choices

Kalash, I'm new to long range and trying to learn these concepts while still working on fundamentals. I am however a reasonably experienced rifle shooter and have a FFP Sightron S3 with a Mil reticle, that I've used for local match shooting. I have to say that I'm pretty pleased with it. The...

For something small and light like a spotting scope, a $5 Amazon plate is fine. There really is no need to spend more.

Anyone Use an Actual AR Lower to Build a 22AR Anymore?

I have a full CMMG .22 AR. I got it 4 years ago when they could be had for $500. At that price it's worth it. But for what they charge now it's not worth the money. Especially since it's functionally inferior in almost every way to my M&P 15-22. It's less accurate, less reliable, and more...
