    Rifle Scopes NightForce Assistance

I have not shot, or spent any time behind the 50mm. No one I know even has one to mess with.

Rifle Scopes 5.56 AR Zeroing - Aimpoint vs LPVO

Because it’s my work gun and that’s what I’m allowed to run. ? On my personal guns I do run both 4-16’s, and 5-25’s. I’m using a KAC LPR with an 18” barrel. My glass is my ATACR 1-8. Best I can run within the LPVO class.

    Rifle Scopes NightForce Assistance

Hello Sir. As a shooter than owns one and LOVES it, I’d say don’t forget the ATACR 4-16X42. That’s a gas gun extraordinaire scope. I run that on either my 5.56 KAC LPR, or my .308. The 50 is the new hotness, but the 42 has been popular for a LONG time. Just my opinion.

Rifle Scopes 5.56 AR Zeroing - Aimpoint vs LPVO

For my work SPR, we mandate a 50 yd zero. That keeps it very simple for 99.999% of the shots a LEO is likely to encounter. What I do is this: I zero my T2 and my ATACR at 50. This allows me to be poa/poi within 2” out to about 300 yds. Much farther than LEO are ever likely to shoot. BUT, I keep...

Rifle Scopes NF 5-25 and 7-35 glass

To attempt to answer the OP, I have both the 5-25 and the 7-35. So this answer is not based on anything like “trying to justify buying......blah, blah” I have already spent the money, and am absolutely ok with it. The 7-35 is AMAZING. To do a test, I set both of them up at 15X, then 20X, then...

Rifle Scopes 7-35 NF ATACR for 2K yds+

The NF 7-35 is a fantastic piece of glass. It is a modern masterpiece. I have literally been able to watch trace into my target at 1K under clear conditions. I have been surprised at it more than once. I have only shot it out to 1200, but have NO reason to think it couldn’t be used out to ELR...

Rifle Scopes How much to spend on glass

If we’re talking about NF, the NXS is renowned for its amazing durability and tracking. Not it’s glass. It is quite literally bulletproof, but the glass has always been “meh .” NOW, the ATACR is on another level. I literally have almost every NF ATACR out, and yes, I’m a huge fan. I traded my...

Rifle Scopes New high power Nightforce NX8?

I respectfully disagree with that last statement. I just shot the “Day In the Arena” match last weekend in Georgia. The match was sponsored by Jack Leuba and Ash Hess from KAC. It was not a KAC match, but certainly they were very well represented. I shot my KAC LPR 5.56 topped with my NF ATACR...

Rifle Scopes New high power Nightforce NX8?

True, and even that glass is pretty damn good. I had the 4-14 F1, and it’s one I’m sort of sorry I sold. Now, I can replace it with a step up. ?

Rifle Scopes New high power Nightforce NX8?

I have stopped short of actually making that comparison, but that is, to me, a SUPER obvious one. I really think those two scopes will battle it out for “this vs that” for a while. I know NF will win on illumination, but the MK5 is a 35mm. That can be good or bad, as 30mm mounts are easier to...

Range Report Range Reports and Other Musings Part IV

Amazing how better ammo gets such better results huh?? Good for you man. Good for staying with it and trying to improve. If you ever doubt yourself or your equipment, it’s best to have a “go to” load that you KNOW shoots well in your gun. Have one that’s a “old faithful” this way, if things...

Rifle Scopes New high power Nightforce NX8?

Oh man, IM SO GLAD THIS IS OUT!!! I have played with, and looked through both. It is absolutely no April Fools joke. They are AWESOME. FFP, and ED glass in an 8x erector set up. I’ve known since a few months ago, and out of respect haven’t said anything to anyone, but guys, these scopes are...

    18" vs 22" vs 24" 6.5CM gas gun

I have the Intermediate on my Aero, and the rifle length on my GAP-10. That is a 22” Bartlein barrel, and it is a HAMMER. I get very regular .5-.7 moa groups out of it. My Aero is .8-1.0 moa. The Aero won’t hang with the GAP, but I absolutely wouldn’t expect it to. In fact, I’d be pissed if it...

    18" vs 22" vs 24" 6.5CM gas gun

I can answer for the 18”, 22” and 26”. My 18” is pushing a 140 gr Hornady ELD-M at 2609. My 22” is shooting the same bullet at 2717. My 26” is throwing the same bullet at 2760. These are all three factory loads. It should be noted that my 18” and 22” are gassers, and my 26” is an A.I. with a...

Rifle Scopes Recommendation for 1-6 LPVO

If you up your weight allotment, and add $100, you could easily have probably the best 1-6 LPVO out there. The Vortex Razor. There was a time when this was the best LPVO on the market, and it went for $1200-$1500. It’s now been eclipsed by some of the 1-8’s, and the NX8, ATACR 1-8, and Kahles...

Rifle Scopes Nightforce NX8 vs ATACR vs ???

I went with the ATACR because it felt like a fine, precision rifle scope in a smaller package. The glass is awesome, the illumination is Aimpoint bright, the reticle is great, it is on par with my other large ATACR’s, just smaller. The NX8 is a great scope. I bought it first, and liked it just...

Looking for the basics on large-frames

As far as gas blocks, I’ve had excellent experiences with Superlative Arms. They have no parts “inside” to get corroded or frozen by carbon etc. Not saying they’re the end all be all, as I’m sure there are others that work. I’ve just used them and can recommend them. I used one on my Aero build...

Looking for the basics on large-frames

I currently have a “proof of concept” rifle that I built just to see if it could be done. I have a GAP-10, a KAC SR-25, and a couple bolt guns. So, I’m not “a poor”. I’m messing with an Aero Precision 18” 6.5CM that CONSISTENTLY shoots sub MOA. It started life as a .308, but I changed the...

    1-8 or 1-7.5 twist for 6.5 CM

Agree with the 1/8. I shoot Hornady 140 ELD-M, Hornady 143 ELD-X, and 147 ELD-M. I have never had a stability issue out past 1200-1300 yds. I shoot 140 most due to the fact that they do fantastic in my gas gun and my bolt gun. I only have to keep one type bullet around instead of “gas gun”...
