    Tikka UPR - thoughts

Not everyone shoots PRS. We here on snipershide are a very small niche market. If you don't see the point of a gun, don't buy it. Thank you for attending my TED talk.

Rifle Scopes Burris XTR II 1-8 RFP

I have that scope. It's my only lpvo, but i think it's pretty good. As said above, 0-200 is point blank shooting. Anything over that I'm just gonna be on 8x anyway. Also, it's a bdc reticle so it's not super precise anyway. If you need super precise, just dial your elevation. That works on any...

    Most overrated piece of equipment

Exactly. Spuhr has additional features that drive the price up. Additional features does not mean additional quality or value unless you need those specific features. Like you or someone else has already said, most shooters don't need them. By all means, if you want spuhr, get it. Even if you...

    Most overrated piece of equipment

I really don't understand the spuhr worship...are they great? Yes, no one is saying they aren't. I guess all of a sudden though, when a new (more expensive) product comes out, then all previous (less expensive) products become obsolete. I mean, i know i am constantly having to re-zero my rifles...

    Most overrated piece of equipment

I could see the clamping devices being much more practical if the rear piece was like like a miniature ball head or leveling base that allowed movement similar to a tripod. But...that still might not be any more practical or useful than a game changer type bag.

Maggie’s What are you drinking right now!?

Yeah, i don't understand that. Buy it to drink it. I feel like people who want to drink it won't pay much over msrp. For everyone else they're just trying to make a buck or it's a status symbol to them.

    Most overrated piece of equipment

He didn't say they weren't good. He said they were overrated. As in, they are not the only scope mount/rings that hold and return to zero. There are a lot of quality options that cost much less that will hold your scope.

Maggie’s What are you drinking right now!?

Right now...the Old Forester 1920. It's just a damn fine bourbon. One of my favorites.

    Hoplite Arms

Makes sense. I have very little experience shooting from a tripod. I just assumed the balance point would be where you wanted to mount it.

    Hoplite Arms

There are WAY more AR grips that are not vertical than ones that are. I have a vertical ergo. It's ok, i don't love it. Also, the vertical ergo grip almost feels like it has a negative angle. It looks like these are truly vertical or just a little bit short of that. One question i have is: is...

Not sure. I haven't heard anything about it. I'm sure someone around here knows.

Hard to find long range in ky. I'm 2 hours from k&m precision, so I'm a member there. 1,200 yards. Rockcastle has some long ranges i think, but I've never been there.

Kentuckian here too, welcome. Sounds like you're on the right track. Browse around the threads here and you'll find a lot of good information. Lots of helpful people if you ask good questions and are willing to do a little digging yourself.

    Question on velocity correction

Download a ballistic app to your phone and see if it spits out the same solution as your kestrel (make sure environmental info is the same between the two). Sometimes the phone apps are easier to manipulate numbers than kestrels are.

    Ideal bench size and features?

Also won't be able to use a drawer unless you get a riser mount for your press. I think you can find some benches like that with good hardwood tops. Probably cost more though

Woman Poses as 11 Year Old Girl Online and The Results Are Sickening

I'm 36. People my age were the first to have the internet most of their lives. I think it was 6th or 7th grade when my parents got it. They had no idea what was out there. They were completely naive. We, people my age, won't be. We know how dangerous the internet can be because we've been on it...

Reasonable goals for first year of precision rifle shooting

Understand how to input good data into a ballistic calculator. Use that calculator to collect d.o.p.e. for your rifle. As others have said, bigger targets are useful for this. True your calculator to your observed d.o.p.e. by tweaking muzzle velocity and/or b.c. Learn to use the wind reading...

    Ideal bench size and features?

I really like my louvered wall panel for hanging plastic storage bins on. Great for organizing brass, bullets, small tools, etc. I got mine from grainger.

    The Fix by Q thoughts

Buddy of mine has one. It has to be handled to truly appreciate it. I think it is an amazing hunting/general purpose rifle. Not good for prs competition or laying down and shooting groups, but for a gun you actually carry around and use in a practical sense, it's tough to beat.
