    I like rechargeable batteries, the issue is they are higher in voltage and can damage electronics. I found out EBL batteries has 3.7v li-ion batteries stepped down to 3.0 +/- 0.1v. So I bought 8 and measured voltage at full charge and they ranged from 3.023 to 3.046 volts. Best of all they take...

    I can see it where you start with a 16" barrel for some applications, then screw on an extension for others requiring more velocity. The issue is creating a repeatable locking mechanism that aligns the barrel that does not degrade for thousands of rounds. The big issue is zero change.

    Have you considered a holster mounted to the bike? Swap gun from body to bike when riding and back to body. An iwb holster with a clip would clip to the bike, that way the gun is always holstered.

    You said suppressor, so the suppressor will overgas it and the bolt will go both directions with much more force, posssibly causing the damage.

    Ran FALS (C1a1) in the Canadian infantry, operated them down to about -50F. Never had an issue. The key is dry lube (graphite). We would soak the rifles in kerosene to remove oil, and then dry lube the crap out of them for winter warfare operations. ARs never did quite as well in the cold, but...

    Great points, the issue is my eyes, I can no longer use iron sights effectively. A red dot is ok. Far vision is ok, but close up I can not see much. I have readers +3.5. With the readers I can see the sights but not the target. Without them the gun is a blur. A red dot allows me to aim.

    Jpoint I believe are just rebranded Shields. The Shields are nice, but for the price of a trijicon, I would want Trijicon quality. As for the DPP toughness, check out the torture tests by Sage Dynamics, only 2 sights passes. Trijicon RMR and Leupold DPP.
