    Quality micro red dot sight

The pickings for red dots to go on a subcompact EDC are slim. Whether it be a Hellcat OSP, glock 43, SHIELD...all have optics cuts for the rmsc footprint. The problem no quality red dots exist for it. Yes you could use adapter plates for the Trijicon RMRcc or Deltapoint pro, but it is stupid...

Rifle Scopes Swampfox scopes Good or bad?

Every scope has a place, so I need a 3k NF scope for a AR shooting mil spec ammo at 100 yards??? Think how stupid that sounds. Will I put a $400 scope on a ELR rifle no, but not every rifle is ELR. Do you put a 3k NF scope on every firearm?

    Red Dot Pistol Question.

What I do is get a deltapoint pro, but the optional rear sight and add a tall suppressor height front site and you have backuo sights.

Heard vortex is coming out with a new pistol red dot

Liked the razor red dot, the rest were not up to par. Even not the razor is way behind the competition. Shake awake, auto brightness, nv compatibility... is the minimum for higher end.

Suppressors I’m moving but want a can

Unless it is on a trust and someone in your current state is also on your trust and will pick it up for you, you will have to reapply in the new state.

    Shotstop Body Armor

It really depends, I have seen ceramic withstand a lot or crack with a little bump. Think more of a ceramic floor tile than a dinner plate. I also would take the RMA 3+ over the shot stop. In fact I have them.

Is body armor necessary for a civilian?

Difficult to block heart/lungs from the side. 3+ armor is thick (~1"), so imagine a 1" thick plate under your armpit. Most side armor only comes up to your lower ribs. The other issue is weight a wrap around 3+ bra would be very heavy, quite bulky and very inflexible. 3+ armor is rigid. One...

Gunsmithing Choking the muzzle bore on a rimfire barrel?

It would be interesting to use the Gerlich gun principle. Squeeze bore to get higher velocity

Is body armor necessary for a civilian?

Close range where the person aims center if mass. Especially with low recoil pistol caliber carbines and a red dot sight. Even moving, I consistently hit a 6 inch center if mass circle on a silhouette target at 25 yards or less. I have also trained myself for 2 center of mass followed by groin...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Shotgun Course Setup. 590 Style revisited.

Couple of options, really depends how much you want to spend. Low cost Medium cost High cost I have run all at various courses/ competitions. Yet I still seem to wear my old canadian combat shirt with big hip pickets and that works. Live shot in one pocket and slugs in the other. Keep a...

Is body armor necessary for a civilian?

Consider what you might encounter. Lvl 4 playes will stop AP rifle rounds, what is the chance of running into them. 3a will stop most common handgun rounds, but newer solid copper rounds will go through them. Level 3 will stop some rifle rounds but not m855 and steel core 7.62x39. Level 3+ (not...

Gunsmithing Aluminum Action Rods for AR platforms

You have to figure where you want the fusible link to be... the receiver or the receiver wrench. As for the Jeep FuhQ... This is why I have 5.3l V8 engines in my 2 LJs.

    Gunsmithing Repair ideas?

Xylene is a better linseed oil solvent than acetone. Acetone evaporates too fast to wick out the oil. Do it outside, both are very flammable and toxic to breathe. What linseed oil did you use? Some will crosslink and act as a weak glue.

    Discrete Drag bags

Soft sided travel golf bag with rain cover. No one thinks twice when they see a golf bag unless it is snowing out. Ski bag grabs attention if not winter/snowing. Other options, especially something people do not readily recognize, mey get more attention than a gun bag, especially by thiefs.

Ballistic Helmets - Too Much Protection?

Not 308, 7.62x39 AK round. Significantly lower energy. Really depends what you expect to go up against. Bugging out, most likely not. Deploying to an area where AKs are common, most likely.
