Ive since moved on from my Barrett, but here's some photos of the barrel and stripped upper. I couldn't buy the removal tool here in Australia so I machined one up myself.

    Precision Rifles.....show em!!

Picked up this Barrett M98b 338LM last month. Changed the grip, cut M-Lok into the forend with a CNC mill, and Cerakoted it. Currently working on a barrel extension lug for other caliber options. Then she'll be a poor man's MRAD...

40 Dead at New Zealand Mosques

The perception that semi-autos are banned in Australia is completely false and spread by the media. They may be heavily restricted, but not unobtainable, I have an A15 and AR10. New Zealand's gun laws are fairly relaxed compared to Australia. Most New Zealand gunshops stock semi-autos and...

    Muddy the waters - ANOTHER 6.5 cartridge - 6.5 P.R.C.

Try comparing apples with apples... What speed are you getting with factory 147ELD 6.5 Creedmoor ammo? Then compare it with factory 147ELD PRC velocity. With 57.5gr RL-26 using 147ELDs I get 3150fps in my 28" 6.5PRC. Anyone can bump the numbers with handloads.

Night Vision NV used by non citizens

Ok, Gen3 isn't the issue. If you chasing top end thermal in Australia give ADJATAC a call. He has Hensoldt Thermals for around $34,000. Infantry Veteran myself. As you would be aware, our Military's NV/Thermal internals are suppiled and regulated by the US. Yes, the 'can't look through' rule...

Night Vision NV used by non citizens

Completely untrue, any Australian Citizen 'CAN' own gen3/ITAR restricted equipment with a US end user Certificate. If you can't afford it or be bothered going though the process, that's your problem.

    Sako TRG / TRG-S M995 Thread **Sticky??**

Happy so far, the long range performance is excellent with 147ELD-M's. I expect about a 3000rnd barrel life. I plan on cutting the chamber back 2" around 1500rnds or whenever the throat erosion gets excessive.

    6.5 PRC

I reload, and will only be shooting 147ELDs in this rifle. The 0.130FB allows handloaders to set thier own 'jump' within the Magazine lenght of short actions. Although results on here with the 0.180FB seem to indicate jumping is not effecting accuracy...

    Sako TRG / TRG-S M995 Thread **Sticky??**

The mag well and ejection port needed to be widened slightly to accommodate the fatter round. The feed lips had to be bent out a little, along with the bolt face opened up to Magnum size. It feeds flawlessly with the rounds loaded to 2.945" COAL (magazine lenght). I used the PTG '0.130FB'...

    6.5 PRC VS. 7 SAUM

I don't think it works that way, the 180grn 7mm projectile has a very long bearing surface, more surface = more wear. To get optimal performance from the 7SAUM your still going to need to push it around 2900-3000fps, not slower. The top F Open shooter here in Oz only got 700-800 rounds out of...
