RCBS precision mic and headspace help

Sorry but there's NO way I'd use this measurement. Why not use the tools that were designed to measure headspace to within .001"? And if they don't understand headspace they have no business playing with gunpowder. This is bad advice to give to new handloaders. Headspace issues lead to...

F T/R Competition Meplat Uniforming and Tipping - experience thus far

As I mentioned, I sort not by base-to-ogive but by bearing surface length. Using two comparators on the caliper. Bearing length differences show themselves on the chrono as well as on target at 1K. Sorting BTO is only giving you half the measurement. Even with the Berger 6mm 105Hybrids...

F T/R Competition Meplat Uniforming and Tipping - experience thus far

Pointing does increase BC slightly which can decrease wind drift. The biggest benefit from bullet sorting is measuring bearing surface length, weight is not as big a factor.

Shot my Rooney Rifle, and I survived!!!!!

The issue wasn't so much that they wouldn't shoot (though it's been documented that many don't) but the fact that what was sold didn't match up to the absolute-high-end-price that TR charged for what is a basic rifle.

    F T/R Competition Starting out in F T/R

Two things from experience: Sell the 10X right now and buy something with a minimum of 24 power. It's nearly impossible to hold off (compensate for wind without scope adjustments) unless you can clearly see the target rings. A bigger view of the target can ONLY help you. Especially at this...

    "Reading" OCW Targets

Well, as you can see from the "groups" your method isn't doable. Get a bipod or sandbags and try it again - and do it at 100yds. Even the crappiest load you can make should shoot less than a half inch at 50yds. An OCW at 100yds is barely enough distance to have it tell you anything. Better...

    Advice on cleaning brass.

So you should use your hands.... Seriously though........I do a LOT of SS cleaning and found the faster way with the least amount of cleanup is: Drain the dirty water into a sink keeping one hand and a magnet at the "mouth" of the tumbler to keep any cases or pins from getting past. Refill...

F T/R Competition Heavy Barrel Bedding

I have a 31", 1.25 straight tube on a Rem700 receiver. I've shot barrels with 2" forward of the lug bedded and those with nothing beyond the receiver and found the unbedded barrels shot smaller at 600+ yds. This is an F-Open gun in a Shehane ST-1000 stock. YMMV I've only seen two...

Rifle Scopes Scope Dilemma...What to put on a GA Precision 260?

Nightforce 8-32x56 NSX with zero stop and .125moa turrets. FFP only needed for non-KD ranges and 10X is not enough mag for precision matches.
