    Not true. The BCG and barrel are proprietary and I'm assuming they did that to prevent the consumer from swapping parts around. Other than those parts it's just a low rail DPMS pattern rifle and you can use any barrel you want. Just have to change the BCG if you change the barrel.

    The 4-40 set screw is for the take down pin, not the safety selector and it is not required. It just makes it easier to install the receiver extension. They are readily available at Ace Hardware. I have tapped every lower I put together for about the last 5 years and installed the set screw.
