    I’d also be willing to bet it wasn’t entirely free floated in that hogue and you were getting some dampening affect from the contact. Easily ascertained with some electrical tape and or business cards. Been more than one factory barrel that needed those speed bumps in the barrel channel.

    6.5 PRC: ELD-M vs ELD-X Chrony Test, Factory loads

    My load development for the ELDX started and ended with the Precision Hunter Factory ammo. For this year at least. I don’t know that I could load much better for my Proof prefit/TL3 or my Impact Stuteville. It was the only thing available locally and I bought every last box.

    MATEN - Considering Finishing my Build

    Ar15performance had some 6.5 creed barrels at one time. That’s the only “budget” barrel I would consider. Mine hammers. Rubber city bolt and superlative block. I used the wedge lock handguard on a Maten and while it’s fiddly to put on it has been rock solid and rather svelte.

    Mine with a Triggertech Special just has a little hitch on close. If you run it like you normally would it’s just a little bit noticeable. I’ve debated about not sending it in but I know I never will if I don’t do it now.

    Rail covers help to a certain extent but if you are an eastern stand hunter on a driven hunt the last place You want your gun is on your back. I like chassis guns but just haven’t warmed to one for winter hunting.

    I would be on one of these like stink on linberger except for one key thing.....I hunt in the cold and an ice cube is an ice cube no matter what it weighs although thinking the magnesium wouldn’t be as bad as the aluminum.
