    I’ve basically settled on the 147 ELDM, I’ve got good loads for it with Staball 6.5 and H4350. The 130 OTM and 136 Scenar-L were fantastic, but those bullets cost 50% more than the Hornady.

    Yea… I got the Redding Master Hunter dies when I started loading 6.5CM. I had to send the resizing die back in because it was so rough I couldn’t fully resize a piece of brass without bulging the brass. Never seen that before in my other Redding, Hornady or Lee dies.     Varget vs N140

    As for the OP, give Winchester Staball Match a shot. It’s a good powder that matches velocities with the same charge weights and can get higher velocities when desired. Accuracy may or may not be at the same powder charge as Varget. I’ve done a fair amount of testing on the two powders head to head.

    100% get the turning mandrel, especially if shooting a semi auto rifle.

    It’s awesome, but you gotta be careful with your choice of rails, it won’t fit under a lot of the skinny rails. I’ve got it on another precision AR, they are excellent. I wish they made one for .875” journals…

    The carbon fiber sheds heat fast, which can create more mirage faster than a standard barrel, so that can be an issue when shooting a lot through the scope. On the flip side, it does cool much faster, so the mirage goes away faster. I haven’t noticed the barrel losing accuracy due to heat.

    I like it so far, but I don’t have experience with standard 45 deg mounts. I can keep my chin on the stock with the LaRue and get the dot up fast. The rifles profile didn’t really get any wider with it on there. Very compact setup.

    NX8 2.5-20X with an offset red dot is a pretty wicked “do all” combo. This one I built has a Proof CF 16” barrel and is a freaking laser.
