    Oh, I’ve seen quite a few “hunting bullet” “failures” over the years. Core/jacket separations, fragmentation, etc. But the animal was still dead. 🤷‍♂️

    I’ve seen plenty of deer killed with 6.5 140 eld-m. If you are really concerned try the 143 eld-x. I often hunt with my match rifle. I shoot 140 eld-m by the hundreds all year long.     6.5 CM. It will do everything you want. Little light for elk, but can be done.

    Not necessarily ELR but my 5-25 has been dialed out to 1200 yards and back to zero a few hundred times. Countless dialing to 11 mils or so. Still tracks 100%. My 3 other 3.6-18 track 100% as well.

    Except that you have to run at a higher setting- thus decreasing battery life. That to me IS an issue.

    If it’s too cold to hold metal- I bet you are wearing gloves. I carried my XLR magnesium 3.0 for a week in Montana last year in the teens. I wore gloves.

    By “level 1” 3-4 clicks from off, I’m guessing you are on level 5-6? I just got a new PRO and it basically has 3 usable levels. Out of 9 settings- #7 can be used in low light, 8 for most daylight, or #9 if it’s super bright out. It’s definitely dimmer across the board than the PRO I had years...

    Switching Atlas picatinny to arca

    You’ll have to send it back to B&T. They will swap out the pic clamp for the base with the two screws. It’s not free, but it’s not all that much. I sent a couple off to have the “NC” conversion done and it was an easy process. Just call B&T and they’ll get you set up.
