    someone else maybe able to confirm but the tip of the blue flame is the hottest and should be just touching the neck. not sure how the flame is hitting your brass, just the tip of the blue flame or the flame blowing around the neck? The pencil torch works the best.

    Brass needs to glow red slightly. Depending on brass roughly 6-8 seconds. Alpha is thick neck brass so probably 6 seconds till it turns red. Everyone has a different opinion.

    Do you start a new barrel with new brass?

    If the chamber was done with the same reamer you should be able to use the old brass. If it was a different reamer fire the old cases through the new chamber to see if it has any issues, clickers etc. if not good to go.

    From my testing Berger does get a higher FPS comparing identical weight bullets of competitors. Price wise up to each individual caliber, weight, and powder all come into play. Try and test a 100 Berger against the competition based on your type of shooting.

    As long as it’s spinning in a circle on a level surfaces tilted forward or back it should be concentric. If the surface is warped or bowed it will show up on your gauge.
