    Hash Marks on Brass

Ahh gotcha, sounds like a good idea if it just appeared after 900 rounds.

    Hash Marks on Brass

It’s when the brass is extracted and slaps against the action. Try to remove the sharp edges in the action. Remove the barrel and stick your finger inside the action and feel any sharp edges. Could be a burr or the action was cut so precise and not dehoned it leaves razor sharp edges. Or what...

. 308 over Pressure or bad chamber

You need to set the die to the desired headspace or shoulder bump on the brass. The die from the factory probably is not set correctly for your chamber. Sounds like a sizing issue and not so much a chamber issue.

. 308 over Pressure or bad chamber

So you didn’t measure the headspace or shoulder bump?

Once fired brass and shoulder bump

Normally takes 2-3 firings to get actual headspace unless you jammed the lands on the first firing. Like everyone said take the longest piece of brass if the bolt closes freely forget sizing load it and shoot it again. there will come a time when the bolt handle doesn’t drop on a fired case...

Fired brass same size as unfired

Could be short chambered if you’re just measuring shoulder bump or head space. Short chambering maybe .001 over the virgin brass as to not over work the brass especially at the base. Measure the base and the SBJ to see if it’s the same. Should’ve grown at least .001 - .002.

    Dark necks on annealed cases

If I remember correctly the dark color is from it being in the flame a little too long or the neck had lube on it, but you don’t have that blue heat line on the brass. What kind of gas are you using?

    Dark necks on annealed cases

Did it turn a red glow?

    Terminus Actions

look at the tenon print on the website. I think it mentioned about .002 head space difference between QC and torqued barrels. Depends who chambers the barrel may or may not make a difference.

    Redding competition seater scratching bullets

Polish the inside of the seating stem. Put some abrasive polish maybe some JB on a bullet and try to polish it real good. Worked for me no more marks on the eldm bullets.

    Bartlein Barrels Update

Bartlein and Bugholes the perfect combination. I don’t think the back log is the issue it’s my indecisiveness as to what caliber twist rate and barrel contour I want next. 😂😂😂 224 or 6mm, what caliber 6mm, slow or fast twist, M24 MTU HV or straight 1.250, and then comes length, 24, 26, 28? All I...

    Official MDT 6BR Magazine Thread

Interesting you mention that as my 12th round will touch the feed lips from front to back but after that only the front lips touch the brass. Like it wants to naturally nose dive. It seems like the front of the follower doesn’t have enough tension to push the front up.

    Tikka HB 223 and ELDMs

Yes I have shot 200 rounds of 75 eldms out of my tikka 1:8 HB and couldn’t get them to shoot small avg .8 groups. 80gr vld Berger did just as bad for me. In the lands out the lands different powder and primer. I just wasted components. I did have success with 50 gr BK, 73 bergers and 77 smk...

1X fired Lapua 308 Win Brass Reloading Question

Sizing it 2x might put stress on the brass but you would have to test over a longer period of time. You can try annealing it between the sizings if that is an option but totally up to you.

Follow up so I sanded the bottom of the follower using a sheet of course sandpaper on a piece of glass. Removed 2mm and now the 12th round fits with a little space to spare. It’s still a little difficulty getting that 12th round in but it goes in way easier. Not sure if I should sand more.
