    17 WSM anybody tried it?

I would definitely like to hear one. In my neck of the woods (gun unfriendly Canada) I shoot the .22WMR mainly because it packs a not bad punch but is quieter than a .223, which is a legitimate concern in many areas. If the new .17 is nearly as loud as a .223 I don't see the point given there is...

    Cold weather shooting.

I got a giggle out of that too. A couple of weeks ago I had an issue with failure to fires on my Savage 93FVSS which were cured after I thoroughly cleaned the bolt/firing pin of all lube. But it was 5F, well below freezing. And where I live (central Alberta) it's going to get a lot colder before...

Planning for retirement bought all the 22lr.

God...5 more years till retirement and I have about 6 months ammo on hand. I hate you ;-) But it's the hate of envy ;-)

New long range shooter here, need advice

I'll back up what everyone has said here from experience. Last year got a nice Savage .22-250 and put a decent 6.5-20x Hawke Tactical scope on it and a Harris bi-pod. Plus bought a bunch of 'stuff'...Kestrel, bubble levels, chrono, good spotting scope, etc. Really....found the only thing...

Suppressors I am so damn jealous

I'm from Canada, eh! Where NO ONE can own a suppressor. Last weekend I spent an afternoon shooting with one of my clients, our local police dept tactical team (I supply photo equip to our dept). Got to shoot their suppressor equipped Steyr .308. I WANT ONE!!

    Remington 700- AIRSOFT

Here's one TSD Tactical Series SD700 - OD Green. Airsoft guns - PyramydAir.com Pyramid Air is one of the best companies to buy anything 'air' powered. This one is at the lower end of the spectrum...they have some that are $200+ that feel just the like the real thing till you pull the trigger.

    Bull Titanium watches

That is just too funny! But, backing up Redmanss, I'm always wary of product that is discounted by more than 50% right out the door. Usually means they've taken a low end product and way overpriced it to suck in the people who buy so they can tell their friends how much it's 'worth'...which in...

Please explain .22 hoarding to me????

Gotta say I agree with you. Whilst I don't agree with a company that jacks up the prices to take advantage of a shortage of ammo (it's not like it's water or something), it is legal and it is my choice to not buy from them and even to forever strike them off of my list of suppliers in the...

Please explain .22 hoarding to me????

Okay, here's the definitive answer (explain ammo hoarding to me) "I'm way more important than anyone else and when I see a retailer with ammo in stock I'm going to buy it all (way more than I need) because, as I said I'M WAY MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOU!" Pretty much sums up the thinking of the...

    .22lr vs .22 mag

If you punch paper and plink, go with the .22LR...much less expensive to shoot and a really good gun will give consistent sub MOA accuracy. If you're trying to eliminate pests or put food on the table at ranges longer than 50m, go with the WMR...way more knock down power. My Savage 93FVSS which...

    scope for tactical rimfire matches??

It's a little on the pricey side, but I've been using a Hawke Tactical Hawke Optics | Hawke Sidewinder 30 Tactical SF 6.5-20x42 20X Mil Dot for two years (including some competitions). It's on a .22WMR and has enough adjustment that I've had no problems at 300yds (the longest I've taken the gun...

Eye Protection in Long range shooting? Noob Question #2

If you can't imagine looking through that nice scope through shitty plastic eyewear...think of what that nice scope looks like through scarred corneas. Ya can't take them off once their ruined.

Eye Protection in Long range shooting? Noob Question #2

I used to be pretty lax with my eye protection. Earlier this year I was shooting (nothing other than a lowly Savage .22WMR) and a couple of pieces of something...to this day I don't know what hit me in the cheek. Both left little burns. An inch higher and who knows. Don't shoot without them now.

    Tripod Selection

Go with the Manfrotto. First...compare it to the Gitzo, you'll be thinking how inexpensive the Manfrotto is ;-) But the reason I suggest Manfrotto to my clients (I supply the photo industry) over many of the other brands is parts availability. If a leg clamp breaks on a Manfrotto...well, $20 and...

    .22LR lever action recommendations

Just purchased a Henry myself, on the advice of a friend who has one with about 10K rounds and no issues. Excellent value of the price, though as someone mentioned the aluminum may not keep a scope solidly mounted. Course I never saw Roy Rogers or Red Ryder shootin' with a scope anyways ;-)

Best bang for the buck air rifle?

x2 see Benjamin Marauder PCP .177-caliber air rifle: Part 7 | Air gun blog - Pyramyd Air Report As evilcoon says...probably one of the best buys out there in an airgun. Olympic rifles may be more accurate. Springers are nice for an afternoon of trouble free shooting. But a Marauder just does...

    One of those range days...

Good shooting. Refreshing to see a sheet of bulls like this. Far too often it goes more like this..."was at the range today, shot a .456 (group 2) like I always do...". I 'think' my Savage is a sub 1moa gun...but add me to the mix and I have a lot of 1.5" groups, which I'm perfectly fine with.
