Tikka build? Whos gonna talk me into a custom?

I want a heavier contour but I can't seem to get a tikka action without buying the whole rifle or I can and it just costs the same. So as long as I can get a rifle in the cartridge I'm interested in, I might as well burn that sucker up. Considering how my son shoots, it shouldn't take long...

Tikka build? Whos gonna talk me into a custom?

Yes I came across some OMR horror stories. Mostly older ones. More recent feedback is more favorable. I think I'm gonna get a T3 lite in 22-250 with 8 twist and put it in a XRS chassis. My local gunsmith can get me one for $870 and thread the barrel for $100. We will burn up that...

Tikka build? Whos gonna talk me into a custom?

No way am I building my son an AI. I make a good living and spend lots of money on shooting and can justify a lot of things, but I don't see myself owning one much less my 15 year old kid.

Tikka build? Whos gonna talk me into a custom?

My problem is bumping the bolt handle up in a hunting situation and then it goes click. This is somewhat specific to coyote hunting when you have the rifle on a bipod or tripod and have to quickly move it over to shoot in a different direction than anticipated. It happens easier than you...

Can I get names of "reputable" Tikka pre fits?

Tikka build? Whos gonna talk me into a custom?

My turn off with the Rem 700 and it's clones is that the safety does not lock the bolt closed. Unless there are some that do? It's my number 1 and probably only complaint with my Desert tech SRS.

Tikka build? Whos gonna talk me into a custom?

He's a good kid. But spoiled. Has better gear than most adults. Thing is I can't buy him better stuff than I got. This has already morphed into about twice as expensive than I was thinking.

Tikka build? Whos gonna talk me into a custom?

I first thought I could do this for about $1500. That's when I thought I should be able to get a Tikka action for about half the cost of a rifle. Wrong. The actions I've found (which are few) are more than a full rifle. I'd rather not spend more than 2k all told.

Tikka build? Whos gonna talk me into a custom?

I've read many things on this subject but still got questions. I think I want to build a Tikka 22-250 or 22 creed. It's actually for my son. He's left handed which really decreases options. I was gonna just buy a T3 in 22-250 and throw it in a MDT XRS chassis. It appears that the...

ok. just asking in the off chance someone actually bought from here. Its a decent website, seems like a lot of work to scam a few people.

    Powder Scam?

I found some Reloader 26 in stock on a site called "Hunter-Precision.com" The price is surprising. Then I got looking around and found several kinds of impossible to find primers in stock. They have Fed 210M, Fed 215M, CCI 200s, etc. Anyone know if this site is legit? I tried to call each...

I've done this before. It actually works. Just looks stupid and the rubber bands don't last long.

Nope. Many are designed in which when the safety is on, the bolt is locked.

    Try it with live ammo.

Just another case of you're the problem not the rifle. Why have mechanical design improvements at all? Every rifle should have an 8 lb trigger and if you can't shoot well with it then you just suck and need more training.

Actually, you can change how the brass hits your hand by changing the length of the bolt handle or by changing the geometry of how you grab the bolt by changing the bolt knob. Or do both. I prefer to change how things work rather than make a mental checklist of crap I need to do to overcome...
