    20N29

I’ve dicked around heating ammo to run 20n29, it works. Why deal with it when there’s RL-50..? The paperwork below states Rl-50 it’s pretty consistent. 890gr bullets in the hunter gun and 898gr Lehighs in the heavy gun with a wore out barrel.

    20N29

Quick load is not correct for the large volume cases. It shows high pressure and low speed when the opposite is true. Keep the 20n29 for the camp fire.. RL50 is good stuff. With 890gr solids I run 238gr RL50. With the 808 Lehigh you can push further north of that. If you’re running bullets...

    A-Tips

One cool thing to note with the Hornady doing radar testing there isn’t a lot of lies around the published G1 spec. I plugged in some values for the 250gr A-tip in the 4dof program, set everything equal and used the published G1 in FFS, the two programs lined up at 2200yards within 0.6moa of...

    Homemade Induction Annealer

Looks good Tim! I used the same board and power supply. Chinesium parts from big rock candy mountain. Lol. Mine has been running for about 3 years with zero issues, I installed a prox to sense when a case enters the holder to start the cycle, and rotating trap door to drop the case once...

Gunsmithing What action wrench for a Tikka T3 barrel swap?

There’s a big flat on the bottom, match that to the flat on the wrench and let the v block do the rest of the work. Take the rail off if you have one on it.

Gunsmithing What action wrench for a Tikka T3 barrel swap?

Two steel v blocks and a barrel. The phone book keeps the v blocks from marring up the barrel. Cheap easy and effective. Good use for that phone book no one uses any more, a Dennis Kirk or midway magazine works too lol. Once you get the Sako Finland tight barrel off you can resume using wood...

Gunsmithing What action wrench for a Tikka T3 barrel swap?

I use the same external wrench. Clamp the barrel in some v-blocks and a phone book in the hydraulic press, give the wrench handle a good smack with a mall and they pop right off. It’s the shock that knocks them loose, not the static torque. Remember to clamp the wrench right up by the...

Best tripod for Swaro BTX 95mm?

Ball heads are a joke for good spotting scopes. The manfroto 410 gear head is awesome to use with my str80 and my vector. Get a couple quick attach plates and leave them on the optics. Currently run a pig Tripod is like to try their carbon fiber unit some day maybe.

    Leica Vector

They should be equivelant to a Vector 4. I paid 3k for my vector 4 three years ago. If it's a good price buy it, you won't regret it. Love mine.

Gunsmithing What size bolt face for 338 lapua?

Tell that to everyone on the line with a Stiller cheytac action that keeps a pocket full of extractors on hand.. I’m sure they all have the same counter bore problem. Try cheap ass ptg junk extractors. Has anyone tried to get ahold of Stiller lately? I wonder why PTG was having a blow out...

Gunsmithing What size bolt face for 338 lapua?

Buy a mausingfield, a SAKO TRG 42, a Barnard. Anything but Stiller or Surgeon. Save yourself the headache and broken extractors...

Rifle Scopes Spuhr height on Sako TRG?

My mount is the ST-4702. The 4701 is probably better for rifles without cheek risers. I machined the stock to take KMW loggerhead cheek riser hardware so that solved any adjustability issues I had.

Rifle Scopes Spuhr height on Sako TRG?

Take the rail off and use the Spuhr that clamps directly to the action. One less set of fasteners to come loose. I’ll check what number mount mine is when I get home.

    198 Flatlines in 300 NM

87gr H1000 in my 300nm imp. With 190gr badlands solids shoots like a house of fire. 3208fps with zero pressure even at 100degrees f ambient. I’ll turn the speed up a little, haven’t had any time to load test, just running what I know works.

    Movie Theater HBO-Chernoble

Just watched the first episode, this should be good. It's been since Justified or SOA that I found a show I liked. This one will do for now, hope it doesn't get boring.

    Gunsite XLR class- system calibration

Haha, you and I are in the same boat for the lottery then. Thankfully our bullet maker has the 88 and we get to utilize the data. Prior to this all my data is collected the old fashioned way, on paper. All other operations are equal to yours. The shot marker system would be real nice to...

    Gunsite XLR class- system calibration

Good stuff. I'll have to look into the shot marker system. I've been using the Oheler 88 b.c. number for my 416 in FFS. Calibrated scope, correct zero and velocity from labradar has been spot on at the spearpoint matches. Elevation check at two miles was perfect with a 3 minute right impact of...

    300 Norma Improved (33 degree)?

I run two barrels.. a cheap green mountain 1-8" for fire forming and the K&P for actual work. It's nice to have a junker barrel you can just bang the ammo through and not give a rip how fast and hot it gets and keep the other barrel for good work. Using lapua brass helps as you don't need to...
