    155 or 185 for 308 to 1k

If it were me, I'd be shooting the 185 juggernaut , with pp2000mr just to get a bit more speed. If your rifle doesn't like it , try cfe223. If your still not getting the accuracy nodes, try varget and IMR 4064. They are slower ofcourse , but great powders. I found an EXCELLENT load with a 178...

    Help with powder option?

Don't forget CFE223, power pro 2000 mr, h4895. First choice would be either Varget or IMR 4064. Varget if that's what you got. I'd start at 41 grains if your using good brass with some capacity. I found an EXCELLENT load with 42.0 IMR 4064 and the 178 amax. So DONT COUNT THAT POWDER OUT...

Range Report OCW Results: 6.5 Creedmoor, Beger 140 VLD Hunting Bullet

I first found my load at 2.140 to ogive , 42.4 h4350 , 140 vld , fgm210m. It was a .1 to low .2 load and was 2820 fps. Gun is GAP CRUSADER WITH A 27" Bartlein 1:8.5 twist. 4 shots at 108 yards But after a while (1200 rounds) I had to up the charge to 42.6 to 42.7 to keep the same speed...

Go to range report and exterior ballistics. I started a thread about the whole ordeal. It's the 140 Amax. The old Vs. the new

Large rifle primers vs. Large rifle magnum primers in .300 win. Mag.

Brian Litz told me that he recommended using LR primers in the Win Mag as they will almost certainly drop your ES. If I'd listen to anyone it would be him

Range Report Which Published Berger BCs Are From Predictions Rather than Measurements?

Mr. Courtney, with all due respect, I think it is you who owes the apology to Brian. As others have said , Berger is the tier one bullet maker right now and IMHO has revolutionized not only the bullet industry itself , but the sport as a whole. As busy as Mr. Litz is, he still takes the time to...

    Kestrel 4500 AB question

Let me ask you guys this.... I've got the AB 4500 Non - Bluetooth version. If I know the ballistic coefficient , measure the oal of the bullet itself, and all my input parameters are accurate on the kestrel itself , what exactly am I losing by not having the "ballistic curves"? I've checked the...

    Suggest a load...

I've got the AAC SD and BEFORE I FIRED IT I measured my throat. The damn 168 vld **FELL OUT OF THE HORNADY MODIFIED CASE***. Couldn't get to lands. Then I tried the 178 amax and because of the bearing surface being closer to the tip was able to get a reading. A lot of folks don't shoot the...

Sleuthing the Federal Gold Medal match load... Mk 316 Mod 0?

This is a great thread. Many thanks to Dan for getting it rolling. I was shooting with Sean Little a few months ago ( Sean owns Vapor Trail Tactical.. A training course. He is a well known Former Marine Scout Sniper and helped test and design the newest addition of the M118LR military sniper...

    Too hot for the 6.5cm?

When you seat the primers and the "Resistance " you get is minimal or in worst case scenarios ... Primers falling out of the pocket. This has to do with the primer cup getting weaker and weaker by each firing and ultimately results in gasses escaping from the pocket itself .... Not a good thing

    New to 6.5cm handloading

Oh and I use fgm210m primers. Hornady brass. Brass prep on virgin brass consists of uniforming "whacked out primer pockets" and lightly using a vld chamfer tool. Then tumbling priming and loading.

    New to 6.5cm handloading

Nothing real hard about loading the 6.5. I bought a redding series "d" seater die and added the vld stem with the micrometer. Works like a champ. Also bought the Whidden Fl Bushing die with a .288" bushing. Bumping the shoulders 2/1000's. Reloader 17 works great with the 140's. I was shooting...

Range Report Which Published Berger BCs Are From Predictions Rather than Measurements?

Maybe I missed it.... But does this Courtney fellow actually shoot comps or recreational. Does he shoot LR or ELR? Or does he just "experiment " for ballistic data??

    Kestrel 4500 AB question

You either have to have the Bluetooth version or buy a PC cord for the version w /o Bluetooth to upload the curves from online. It's 100$ either way you look at it. I just input all my own data and it works fine for me. Couldn't justify spending 100$ extra for something I can simply google or...

Range Report Kestrel w/ Applied Ballistics vs Ballistic: AE on Iphone w/ Kestrel

Save your money for one and just get Ballistic AE. I have taken shots out to over 1300 yards with it and had 1st round hits. If you'll do your part and make sure the input parameters are as close to as being spot on as possible ..... It's very good. Mildot Ballistics would be my 2nd choice...

300 WM pet loads (update #2)

H1000 will shoot any heavy bullet out of the win mag. Some rifles jut prefer different powders. Retumbo ,however, does work fantastic out of mine.

300 WM pet loads (update #2)

I built a .300 win mag with a 30" Broughton 5c. Had it throated long for the 215 and 230 grain bergers. My go to load for 1500 yard shooting is 77.7 grains of H1000 15/1000"s off the lands. Runs about 3015 fps. Also found another GREAT load with 78.1 Retumbo. For the. 230 OTM , I'm running...
