    Reloading Components in STOCK!!

Varget is still showing available on Midway website. But StaBall 6.5 sold out while I was poking around. Accurate 5744 looks intriguing for my 375 double rifle but not at that price. $409.99?? What is Midway thinking?

Do you prefer Stock or Chassis?

My 6.5 is in a chassis and my 6 is in a Manners T2A. Prefer the look of the Manners but honestly I shoot the chassis better. But I'm trying to really like the Manners as that's the one I would prefer in the long run. I usually shoot both on my trips to the range so it's easy to compare.

Thanks! Picked up some 6mm Bergers this evening. Takes a lot of pressure off knowing I have some bullets for upcoming matches.

New Vortex Fury 5000 Range Finding Binos with Applied Ballistics

Yesterday I shot out to 520yds. The Fury and the AB app on my phone were off by 0.1 mils. The phone app had the true correction so I'll need to go back into the rifle profile for the Fury and make sure everything is set correctly. I also worked on determining which part of the Fury's reticle...

New Vortex Fury 5000 Range Finding Binos with Applied Ballistics

Does anyone know whether the Fury ABs provide station (actual) atmospheric pressure or barometric pressure? I'm guessing it's like a Kestrel and provides station pressure but just wanted to verify. I had a few minutes to calibrate it yesterday. I verified the results with my magnetic compass...

New Vortex Fury 5000 Range Finding Binos with Applied Ballistics

My first trip to S Dakota I had no idea what I was doing and took a .223 and a 22-250. I live and practice in Georgia and I got a real lesson in shooting in the wind. Up there it really blew those little 52gr bullets around. I thought the 22-250 would extend my effective range but I actually...

New Vortex Fury 5000 Range Finding Binos with Applied Ballistics

Thanks. Vortex seems to be the first to really put together a product that integrates the separate pieces. You shoulda seen me chasing prairie dogs 2 years ago. Locate them with binocs. Range them. Check wind with my Kestrel 1000. Get a firing solution on my phone app. By that time the...

New Vortex Fury 5000 Range Finding Binos with Applied Ballistics

As I research the Fury 5000 AB more completely I'm beginning to understand its capabilities and some of the use cases. I spent some time on the Kestrel website as well and the 5700 Elite definitely provides more environmentals but the Fury AB seems to have the most significant sensors built it...

Rifle Competition Events Steel Safari 2021

Thanks. I'll be sure to carry plenty of fluids. Many matches provide water out on the course but this is a field type match and I guess part of that means carrying everything you'll need for the day.

Rifle Competition Events Steel Safari 2021

Basic question but I couldn't find the answer on CD website. Do I need to be prepared to carry my own water for the entire day on the course? I understand it's desert environment and water can get heavy and I definitely want to stay hydrated.

Question/help re: mounting Arca rail to Manners T

I have a different opinion. After a season of shooting with a full length rail I found it very beneficial to be able to position the bipod anywhere along the length of the rail depending on the obstacle I'm shooting off of.

Question/help re: mounting Arca rail to Manners T

Thanks. I will check with Area 419. Need to get on this before the season gets in full swing. I do like the Manners stock very much but after having a full length rail on my chassis rifle I realized how useful the rail is for positioning the bipod and tripod.

Question/help re: mounting Arca rail to Manners T

Bringing this topic back to life. I have a T2A and would like to add a full length ARCA rail to it. The T2 has the step down at the front action screw. So how do you accommodate that gap if the rail's end uses the action screw as the anchor point? Which brand of rail did you use? Thanks

New Vortex Fury 5000 Range Finding Binos with Applied Ballistics

Thank you! Good to know since EuroOptic is advertising $200 off the Kilo 3000s right now.

New Vortex Fury 5000 Range Finding Binos with Applied Ballistics

Comparing the two, what do the new Fury ABs do that the Sig Kilo 3000s don't? Fury's use AB Elite and Kilo 3000s use AB Ultralite. Is that the main difference?

Rifle Competition Events 2021 Steel Safari

And sounds like I should just leave the spotting scope at home. I personally like to use the spotter at PRS matches where there's not a great deal of movement from target to target at one stage but I could see that the more limited field of view would be a handicap when trying to rapidly locate...

Rifle Competition Events 2021 Steel Safari

Thank you. I can understand how going from binoculars to find the target then lrf to range the target then to riflescope to aim at the target would be difficult. You're having to reacquire the target each time, potentially very time consuming. Unfortunately separate binos, lrf and riflescope...

Rifle Competition Events 2021 Steel Safari

The 2021 Steel Safari is coming up in June and I would like to be a first time competitor and have a few basic questions. I've shot a few PRS style events at the regional level and have a pretty good understanding of my abilities but would like to move to a field type event. The description...

    Tripods: Understanding needs and requirements

I tried to buy one of the Patriot Valley Arms Comp-40 tripods. Put the deposit down on it. when they didn't deliver after 6 months I contacted my credit card company and received a refund for the entire amount. (PVA says they will keep $50 of your deposit). In the meantime I read several...

    Suppressors Precision Suppressor

Couple years ago Cal at Precision Rifle Blog did a survey of suppressors used. TBAC and SiCo Omega are far and away the two most popular. When I was buying my suppressor for precision use the wait time just to get a serial number for the TBAC was a couple of months while the Omega was in stock...
