    We're not talking that great a distance. Sounds like the OP might not go much farther than 400 meters.

    Here's my Remarms ADL 7mm RM in a KRG Bravo. The steel is at 550 yards. Around 42 rounds with just my fire forming handloads. 180gr ELDM. Edit: I should of said 42 rounds down the barrel at this point. Three shot group on each target.

    I'd say since this is your first LR rifle it really depends on your range limitations. You said 400 plus meters but will you be limited to say 600 meters? 800 meters? A .223 with fast twist barrel will get you out to 900 meters or more and will cost less than a 308 win or 6.5 CM. If the bulk of...

    It really depends. My general lightweight rifle is a pushfeed Winchester Model 70 FWT in a McMillan stock. LR elk rifle is a new Remarms 700 7mm RM 1-8" twist in a KRG Bravo. Close in coyotes out to mid range is my AR15 20". And my LR coyote rifle is a Rem 700 in 260 AI Rock Creek barrel.

    At our range they don't allow any other shooter on that range when a competition is going on. Which bugs me because they are there almost every Saturday. But setting up next to a competition out of spite isn't helping at all.

    I bought some for my 260 AI. I did a very mild load of 140 ELDM's going 2800 FPS winter load. I'll see if there is any change in velocity during the summer.

    I like my shotgun. But the reality is I don't shoot them much anymore. Plus I don't reload for them even though I have the presses and the shells are pretty expensive. I'd rather have a suppressor for my AR. Touching off an AR inside isn't anything my ears can deal with after my stint in the Army.

    That would fit in the truck gun category. Not humping much. Basically a rifle of opportunity. You're running around and something pops up while you're out and about. A quick day pack with your essentials augments this.

    I'm interested on how the new PA GLx 1X prism will turn out. Pretty much the eye relief of a red dot. It's it's an etched reticle them there will always be some sort of a dot even without illumination.
