    I'll take trigger #3.

    Remington 700

That why I bought a new Remarms 700. I got the ADL because I knew I'd want a different stock. There aren't many factory rifles out there that I wouldn't change the stock right off the bat. And if the new tolerances prove to be consistent and tight then this will be the cheaper option to a Tikka.

    Remington 700

ADL Varmint should be in the $670 range. A stainless SF varmint probably close to $1100. The prices got bumped up in the beginning of 2024.

Eclipse 2024 ..Let the madness begin!

The last one in So Cal was in 1979 and I was there for that one. I don't think it was in the direct path as I don't recall it being much of anything. The one in 2017 in Oregon was a completely different experience. We were in the path of totality where it went dark and you didn't need glasses to...

    Exactly.

    Remington 700

Given how my rifle shoots I'd say the new varmint models will be pretty good. Like stated earlier all the new Remarms rifles have 5R rifling. The short actions already have the ramps cut out for seating out to 2.950" from what others have reported. I wish I got the .223 also since it also has a...

    Remington 700

I have some Staball HD but wasn't too concerned about the velocities right now. I took that load out to 800 yards this winter at the range. But now BLM lands have ended their hunting seasons and so I'll be testing it out to a mile. I'm having too much fun shooting my 260 AI to get to my 7mm RM.

    Remington 700

Not a varmint 700, but a new Remarms ADL 7mm RM I stuffed into a KRG Bravo. The Timney Impact non adjustable trigger breaks at 3lbs 12oz. I'm just fire forming the brass and had 32 rounds down the tube with the three round group.

What do you wish someone told you when you first started in precision shooting?

Around 1200 yards is the distance where I can still consistently hit with my PSS and the 168gr ELDM's. 1-12" twist might be hampering me, I'm not really sure. That PSS barrel is original and I have to have at least 10k rounds through it. I found some new spots to take me out to a mile on BLM...

Eclipse 2024 ..Let the madness begin!

Yeah it can be a mess in the popular spots for the locals. I suggest get everything you need a week ahead of time. Try to avoid the traffic and enjoy yourselves.

Eclipse 2024 ..Let the madness begin!

Same here on 2017. I really didn't think much of it until I saw it. Man I'd love to make it for the next one. But I doubt that I will be able to.

What do you wish someone told you when you first started in precision shooting?

Mine shoots 168gr SMK's or 168gr CC the best. But like you I shoot the 168gr ELDM's. You just cannot deny the BC and fragmenting capabilities of the ELDM's.

What do you wish someone told you when you first started in precision shooting?

It might not be the latest or greatest, but it is a versatile cartridge.

What do you wish someone told you when you first started in precision shooting?

The reality is if you enjoy the LR experience you won't have just one rig. Sooner or later you'll add to it lol. One good thing about the 308 Win is barrel life. Don't let it get hot and the barrel can last a long time. I've had my PSS since 1991. A ton of rounds down that barrel. So even if you...

    Putting down the family dog...

I just put down our much loved family dog two days ago. I say have the vet come to your house. Part of me wished that I had the vet come to our house, the other part is glad they didn't do it at home. Our dog was a beagle, and he didn't like the sedative. In minutes he started howling loudly...

How long before getting a new dog

I had to put ours down yesterday. He wasn't trained but virtually a service dog to my Mom. He'll be hard to replace. Some dogs we pick, some pick us, and some are a gift from God. All things in good time. I'd love to have another blessing like the one that just left us.

What do you wish someone told you when you first started in precision shooting?

A "lesser" rifle might be just what he needs. The OP didn't still state his range. The skill set is more important than the rifle. People get all caught up in the gear, it's just a tool. The skillset is what counts.

What do you wish someone told you when you first started in precision shooting?

My PSS shoots alittle better than my ADL. Heck I try to more with less. I just got back from testing my Hellcat at the range. Tested the flush fit mags and open sights at 96 yards.
