Rifle Scopes Vortex 1-6 Power Ring Stiffness

This is the right answer. I'll say that my gen3's magnification ring is just right, too. Enough resistance to stay put, but very smooth and easy to operate.

Rifle Scopes Burris XTR iii, how are they doing?

They also might have been gen1s with meh reticles. The DEV-L MRAD gen2 Sigs tend to command the premium.

Night Vision The IR brightness setting on my scope - what NV setup uses this?

I have a couple of Sig Whiskey5s that appear to have an IR brightness setting for the fiber optic Hellfire reticle. What is the use case for this setting? I've heard about using lasers and reflex sights with NODs, but I've never actually heard of people using scopes with IR brightness. Is it a...

Rifle Scopes Burris XTR iii, how are they doing?

Interesting analogy to make, because I've noticed the resale value on Tango6s has gone WAY up over the past year or so, especially the LPVOs. Sig winning the DMR contract has given them a bit of street cred, and the solid performance of the Tango6 gen2s has definitely been noticed. (I'd also...

Rifle Scopes XTR II 1-8 Discontinued

Burris is in a weird position where the only current production LPVO they have is the RT-6. The RT-8 got discontinued before it even really got released. The RT-6 is a terrific scope for its price point, but as the OP has pointed out, the lack of any higher-end LPVO is pretty glaring. If they...

Rifle Scopes EOTech Vudu 1-8x24 - Anybody looked at one or have experience?

People can complain all they want about IG influencers or whatever, but handing out a few scopes for review to competent guys like koshkin, BJF, Steve Fisher, Bill Blowers, etc. would go a LONG way in getting people the information they need to make purchasing decisions about new products. No...

Rifle Scopes Sig Tango 4 Thoughts? Esp 4-14x44

I also bought one off EuroOptic, and it should be coming in a day or two. I have a couple of gen2 Tango6s to compare it to.

Rifle Scopes Vortex Gen III 1-10 Review

Mine came on Saturday. Messed around with it a bit at home. Should be putting some real rounds down range next week. Thoughts: Optical quality is stellar, but we already knew that. The comparisons to the Mk6 reticle illumination are spot-on. If your head isn't in the right position, you can...

    Rifle Scopes 6.5 grendel

I've got a Burris XTR II 1.5-8x (CQ mil reticle) on my AR-6.5G SBR upper, and a Tango6 3-18x (DEV-L MOA) on my Ruger American in MDT chassis. No objections to either. The 6.5 Grendel is a round that can go pretty damned far if you give it enough velocity up front, so giving it a little extra...

    Rifle Scopes Red Dot Needed

I think it's really hard to argue against the quality of the HS510/512 and the HS507. They're just REALLY good reflex sights and seem to be extremely durable. If you want sights that have similar features, Sig has their own variants assembled in the USA, just at a higher price. I assume Holosun...

Rifle Scopes Sig Bravo3 3x24 vs PrimaryArms SLx 3x32

Natchez has a demo Bravo4 with 300 AAC reticle for $530. If you can stretch your budget to $530, you will get a MUCH better optic. Just an idea.

PFI RR-800-1: reticle rotated. Eotech SU-231: delaminated slightly and lost nitrogen purge.

    Rifle Scopes Bushnell SMRS 1-8.5x....anyone?

I run my SMRS on my AR-308. Works well on that platform, since I'm dialing and not doing a bunch of high speed stuff like I would with an AR-15. Kinda heavy, though. Concur that the glass is phenomenal.

Close-out Bushnell is a pretty solid choice.

Rifle Scopes Vortex Razor HD Gen III 1-10x

Nah. I've got an SMRS 1-8.5x on my 18" AR-308 and am putting my incoming Razor Gen3 on an 18" AR-15. If I need to make distance shots on that 308, I'm dialing, and the SMRS is a great LPVO to dial with. I doubt 2x of magnification is going to make or break in that situation. There's no...

Rifle Scopes Vortex Razor HD Gen III 1-10x

You pretty much answered your own question. A lot of guys are just not going to see a lot of added value from the Gen3 over their Gen2s, because they just don't need to stretch to distances that 10x would come into play. Why pay eight hundred bucks (plus) more for a Gen3 that's not delivering...

Rifle Scopes Vortex Razor HD Gen III 1-10x

I keep hearing this predicted, but I'm skeptical it's really going to be a thing. The GenIII is operating at a much different price. I do think we'll see some dumping at $700-$800 if there's like a Gen III 1-8x SFP that's closer to what the current Razors are going for.

    Rifle Scopes Primary Arms Glass

The 2x is magnificent for the money they're charging. Crazy good eyebox and what seemed to be pretty good glass. I want a version with a circle dot reticle using a fiber optic battery-powered dot... I could think of a lot of oddball rifles it would work well on.

    Rifle Scopes Primary Arms Glass

IIRC, not all the Glx stuff is made in the Phillipines. In particular, I believe the 2x is made in China (albeit it's a pretty great optic in spite of that).
