    Kydex AICS mag-holders

    Why kydex instead of a HSGI Taco? With Tacos, you can fit everything from an AR, AK, AICS, etc. To me that is a lot more convenient than every weapon system needing new battle rattle.

    I think your original plan should work just fine, @pmclaine, but if not, usually gently used HSGI stuff keeps pretty good value.

    Just a SWAG, but I would imagine different burn rates would lend themselves better to one barrel over another. Something with a quicker burn rate would be more ideal for a short barrel, maybe?

    Palmetto State runs a deal on 175g FGMM every once and a while, around 17 bucks a box, buy 10 for free shipping. 200 rounds of good .308 for 170 bucks is good to go in my book.

    Good call. Im new to bolt guns, I didn't think there was anything particularly fiddly with them. Hell, the manual on my rifle didn't even include instructions on how to break down the bolt.

    I am also unsure as to why someone would carry an extra bolt for a bolt gun in the field. How often do bolts fail?

    Thanks for the input @Stooxie . Ill have to try some of those 308 rounds. My 175 SMKs are only getting about 2500 FPS in "deer weather."

    That's about what my Safariland drop is on my work belt. It makes a difference.
