Boomer Range close to Wichita KS

Awesome. I just got into scoped rifle shooting, working on my load data. Once I'm good with that, I want to come out and do a match.

Boomer Range close to Wichita KS

Thanks Flatland1, those look like good spots. A little far from KC still, but worth a drive it would seem.

Build a rem 700 or buy a bergara b14 hmr

I was in a similar situation, went with the Bergara. It already had everything that I would have done to a 700 done to it, and isn't a Remington.

Rifle Scopes Could a red-dot have this improved functionality?

More importantly, why? Red dots belong on carbines. Carbines that are usually expected to be utilized from zero to three hundred meters. With a regular US Army zero, (as of 2013) of 25-300, you don't really need a hold for a man size target with an Aimpoint CompM4. Now, if you are trying to tag...

Book on Building and Tuning AR’s

There are quite a few places that do armorers courses too. I took one from Sully at Defensive Edge. It was excellent, even for me who has quite a few years of paid time behind M16/AR type rifles.

need some help picking a belt please...

Ive got the original Suregrip from HSGI, and their slimmer one. Both are good to go. I have the original set up with some suspenders and pouches set up much like an old ALICE belt rig, just using updated pouches. The slim belt is used for pistol, blow out kit, and two rifle/pistol HSGI tacos...

Sport Optics is excellent. I ordered my first scope from them, and would not hesitate to do business with them again.

    Must See Doc.: "Afgan"

Thanks for the recommendation. I try to catch anything I can about Afghanistan. I think its a beautiful place, and the history is extremely interesting to me. The crazy thing is in a lot of parts of the country, it probably looks damn near the same as when Alexander, or the Mongols, or the...

    Where’s Missouri Steel MOST series?

If you are going to L Wood you will be pretty close to the Big Piney gun club (something to that effect, google will get you there.) They run competitions and have a nice looking range as well, from what I can see on the website.

Which drag bag do you use?

Shoobe01, thanks, that said it better than I was trying to. A lot of the cheaper bags also seem to me (by feel) to use lighter nylon where nicer bags would use the heavier stuff. Im certain that drives cost down too.

Which drag bag do you use?

No worries man. I'm new to the (precision) shooting, but not to gear. I wasted a lot of money in my younger years, so I try to keep others from doing the same.

Which drag bag do you use?

The materials and craftsmanship are going to be subpar. Stitching is what you need to pay attention to, along with zippers. There is a reason why the Voodoo bag can offer the "same" features as these high end drag bags, but for a quarter of the price.

Which drag bag do you use?

Generally, Voodoo Tactical is in the airsoft gear realm. Is that going to matter to you? Depends on how much stress you plan on putting the bag through. If price is an issue, a Plano plastic case with foam padding is probably a better storage solution. If you intend to actually "drag" the drag...

    Rifle painting, advice welcome!

Don’t overthink it. Just tape what you don’t want paint on, (optic is the most important obviously) and spray.

    Rifle painting, advice welcome!

Don't worry about the durability of regular spray paint. Put on a couple good base coats, then be prepared to touch it up every couple years, unless you use your stuff in a field environment often. My rifle gets banged around the woods in FOF or other "tactical" uses at least two days a month...
