Sort of. We were told that when aiming at certain targets on the qual range, we would have to hold low (Probably the 25 or 50m?) because the "bullet is still rising." To be honest, in basic we were only really taught enough to be accidentally dangerous to the enemy or to our own weapons.
Does anybody happen to have them in stock? I can't seem to find them anywhere, local or online. Was there something wrong with them, discontinued, etc?
Got my deer last year with a 62 grain Federal Fusion out of my AR. I don't waste too much time thinking about what I'm going to use on deer, because most of my shots in my hunting spot are going to be close to point blank.
I carry a USMC ILBE if I am going to be out for a long time, or need bulky winter gear. If its just a day trip, my MOLLE Medium ruck does the job, and works great as a rifle rest. My "at hand" stuff and Glock are in a HPG Recon Kit Bag.
Reading Bounty Hunter 4/3 by Jason Delgado. Been reading most of the "memoir" type books I can on snipers and their lessons learned. Just interesting to me as a former soldier that didn't live in that world.
Yes, the stock plastic sheath is quite sufficient. I used 550 cord and a cord lock to attach it to my belt (standard BDU style belt) and it works well. Don't even notice it proned out.
I had a day where I couldn't even group my M4 when I was in Afghanistan. I was pissed off at something, and just couldn't shoot worth a shit.
Just pack it in, figure out what you are doing wrong, and then go back to it.
