    The EP4 isn't a 56mm objective another factor that increases the cost. I don't have any doubts of the ruggedness of the Cronus, Ares, or Midas for that matter. I've own several Athlons and the Arken for a while now.

    I'd pay $500-599 for that scope too but you won't ever see it. The upgrades you are describing Japanese ED glass, and the 10 MIL per revolution turrets significantly elevate cost of manufacturing thus the price. In essence you are describing a Athlon Cronus.

    The AG flat bag with sand fill is just over 4 pounds, with the Purge it's just over a pound depending on the percentage of fill.

    Yes I do, prefer the Purge in the AG Flat bag. It's about 1/4 the total weight of the sand fill but settles "almost" as solidly on barricades and ladder rungs.

    I use the Pro Shot Products VFG Adaptor, if you use the actual VGF made one you have to get a different rod because the threads are 8/36 instead of 8/32

    The extractor geometry is the same, the material has changed. That looks to be the newer version which is a lighter color.

    For you tuner people

    I stated much more consistant at 100 and beyond and that those were the first 4 100 yard groups. Prior to the tuner they hovered around MOA, after tuning consistently below.
