    Have owned several USO scopes, still have a few (ST-10, SN3 3.2-17, SN3 3.8-22) but none built later than 2011. I like the old EREK/ERGO, but got rid of the T-Pals that I had. Were your glass problems on older or newer scopes?

    If you like that cartridge, why change? You can correct "slippery" stock by having some checkering done, or addition of stippling. Barrel heating up too fast depends on your rate of firing, amount of powder burning, and barrel thickness, surface area available for heat dissipation, ambient...

    Yes, might be based on the Lap. To me the Lap seems new because it's only been around for about 35-36 years. There is some discussion on the Hide about the 375-338 Lapua, search for: 375-338 Lapua Improved

    I would try and find some of his fired cases among his equipment, if it is still available. Lacking that, the chamber cast is the way to go. Common practice was to indicate the bullet/bore first, then the case. If this happens to be correct, the cartridge may be based on a 338 case, with .375...

    :cool: Did you notice this is an old thread (like 2013)? Reading mirage is a good skill to develop, useful when there is mirage. In the mountain areas, suggest paying attention to which way the wind blows, up the canyon, or down the canyon depending on the time of day and the time of year.
