    Electronic ear protection ?

    Have been using MSA Sordin Supreme Pro-X now for some time and wish I gotten them sooner. Spend a few bucks and get the gel seals for the ear cups, very effective and comfortable. Choose either head band or neck band, and you can also get the comms kit.

    When I was in high school, one of my older cousins joined the local sheriffs office as a deputy after his hitch in the Marines. Spending time with him I learned there are some truly evil people in this world, some situations can only be corrected by force, and the quicker it happens, the better.

    you can shoot off a bag on the bench, you don't want to kill your chronograph. Set up cronograph (on its' stand) about 10 feet in front of the muzzle, you can look along your rifle bore to make sure you will be shooting well inside the skyscreen(s).     Have been using Badger for some time now. I keep a set or two of 34mm P/N 306-75 rings on hand for any new scopes acquired. They work well (even with use/abuse). KISS.

    Personal preferences. Am not a proponent of lapping. IMO it is easy to check the base even if it is integrally machined with the receiver, before slapping stuff together. On the receivers that do not have an integral base (like the Rem 700), check the fit of the base and bed it if needed...
