    I have Remington 700 triggers, old style (not x-mark), with the bottom bolt release and side safety, right hand only, looks like just 4 left. No left hand triggers remaining.

    Do you intend for the same "smith" to do the barrel/chamber work, and bed the barreled action, install the DBM bottom metal, etc.? Presume you are ordering the stock with inletting for that action, DBM, and barrel contour you plan to use?

    Over the years, I've had a couple of Accumarks (as part of trade deals), but never tried to run extended bench testing with them. They were OK, but like production rifles, they were not consistent enough IMO, even with careful handloading. Unknown what your "smith" did to "accurize" the rifle...

    I keep a few of the older style take-offs on hand, with bolt release and safety. I did not rework or adjust them, so you should assure they are working correctly after you install/adjust them (prior to use). Send me a PM if interested.

    If you check the VGW site they are using cut-rifled and hand-lapped barrels. Good quality barrels are typically cut-rifled or button-rifled and hand-lapped. Each method has its followers.

    Jbell, am in agreement about frequency of cleaning (your earlier response). Would also suggest care with the cleaning solvents used (some may cause pitting if left too long). After solvent cleaning, push an oiled patch or two. Suggest only nylon brush if you think that brushing is needed.

    Still carry the CQB. Took it back to them at Berryville last spring for a "tune up" and some sight work. Alessi holster, always dress for success.

    Yes. Had two, both ST and used them (a lot). Sent one back when knob loosened, SB went through it completely and got it back to me in about two weeks IIRC. Sold both after buying a pair of Heinsoldt 4-16's. Wish I'd kept the SBs too.

    yeah......I really like the 300winmag, but am a dinosaur that has typically done builds with AMU/MTU in past years. Fluting can take some of the weight off. Unless you will be running long strings (bunch of rounds in say 20 minutes or less), then a lighter contour (sendero, rem varmint, etc.)...
