    Remington Barrel Contours: Seeking Tables

Re: Remington Barrel Contours: Seeking Tables I was (am) looking for any reference that describes the exterior dimensions of the family of Remington barrels. Twist would be a nice bonus, and probably would be included in something comprehensive. What I found did not appear to be complete, and...

What is type of "fill" for a McMillan stock?

Re: What is type of "fill" for a McMillan stock? Thanks for the link. Instead of calling McM while I'm just seeking knowledge and kicking tires, I contacted a board member who I thought was connected to McMillan, but got no answer. I'd also like to know a little more about the technical...

    Remington Barrel Contours: Seeking Tables

Re: Remington Barrel Contours: Seeking Tables My search is for reference tables more than it is specifically about the 5R itself. The Krieger and Bartlein sites are helpful. Thanks.

What is type of "fill" for a McMillan stock?

I cannot find a description of the differences between the types of fill offered in McMillan stocks. Will someone please describe the Standard, Magnum, and Sniper fill? I don't see that information on the McMillan site, even though the fill is an option on the order form.

    Remington Barrel Contours: Seeking Tables

I cannot find an online reference source that lists Remington barrel contours in a table for easy comparison of dimensions. I have seen a couple, but they appear to be incomplete, as they do not include the Milspec 5R barrel. I'm shopping for a stock to replace the HS Precision that came with...

    mil to mil

Re: mil to mil There are 3.43 minutes per milliradian. At a distance of 100 yards, an angle of 1 minute subtends an arc of 1.047 inches. 3.43 MOA per MIL x 1.047 inches = 3.6 inches per milliradian at 100 yards. At a distance of 100 yards, a 1 milliradian angle subtends an arc of 3.6...

    Spotting without reticle-based spotting scope

Re: Spotting without reticle-based spotting scope Thanks guys. The class says to bring a spotting scope if I have one. I want to get one now so I don't have to borrow one or show up under-equipped, but perhaps waiting is better until I understand exactly how to use it and figure what will be...

    Spotting without reticle-based spotting scope

I plan to take a course from one of the trainers on this board, and I'm sure my question will be answered at that time if I don't find it sooner. I'm looking to buy a spotting scope, and of course there are several that have mil-dot/hash reticles, and many more that have no reticle at all. If...

    New McMillan Saddle Cheek Pieces

Re: New McMillan Saddle Cheek Pieces So they are backwards compatible with the old stocks, and are available as replacements? My current cheek piece rattles loose all the time and I'd really like to get one of these new ones if it solves that problem. I've even thought about going as far as...
