So, I was thinking about the potential audit of the gold at Fort Knox. What happens if it is missing, or at least a large portion is missing? Obviously, we would have a financial crash initially, but what else?

Sounds like this would make them a state sponsor of terrorism.

You aren’t wrong on the fixation with athletics. Friday night lights is no joke. My county sits at a 22% poverty rate roughly. The football stadium has new artificial turf, and there is a $5 million indoor practice facility with 50 yards of a field that also has artificial turf. Every kid in the...

Not being argumentative, but did you have kids in the schools during this time? I did, and the meals went to shit. The students who played sports had to have supplemental meals to get enough calories to practice and compete. The portions were smaller, quality and selection were reduced, and...

Child home alone in Kentucky shoots two armed intruders with a handgun. Both intruders fatally hit.

Good for the kid to win the fight, but I hate that he will carry this with him now.

As far as smooth goes, EH Taylor Small Batch is smooth. Ryes will generally have some burn to them.

So, I work in higher ed and we had our semi-annual full faculty meeting today. The meeting is done over Zoom, so you can really get a good view of everyone who is involved. Ultimately, the meeting devolved into a panic about executive orders and how they might impact DEI research, training, and...

    DOGE Investigators Doxxed

Doxxing is the way of the left. Pretty ironic for a bunch that runs around wearing masks.

My job has a hybrid schedule where I work from home 2 days a week and in the office the other 3. We have a policy that you have to be able to be in a Zoom meeting within 15 minutes of being notified. It would be pretty hard to pull off the stuff these .gov employees have been doing.

Liberals nearly 600% more likely to have mental health issues than Conservatives.

There are plenty of studies that go unpublished due to someone not having tenure and the findings being controversial. I know of one out of Mississippi State that didn’t get out because of it. The study looked at rates of criminal offending in the Delta and in Appalachia. Want to guess what they...

Liberals nearly 600% more likely to have mental health issues than Conservatives.

Nothing but a FOIA request away, assuming it’s not a private college.

It definitely goes back further. I work with 2 retired O-5s who are card carrying Trump haters and lean to the left.

If he is tenured and has a set of balls, he will submit his study to every journal out there. This is what tenure is actually supposed to protect faculty from.

Griffin Armament allegedly not very pro gun

This policy has someone’s name on it unofficially. Someone did something that got risk management involved and the insurance company said this is how it would be.

    Safety in Ecuador

My stepson is going to Ecuador to kayak next week. I have limited knowledge when it comes to the country. Google shows that it is generally safe, but I was hoping there might be someone on here with personal experience. He said he will be in Quito, Baeza, Tena, Puyo, Banos, and Cielo Verde. Any...

    7mm Back Country?

A high pressure, high recoil, steel cased round for backcountry hunting. Sounds just lovely for a 7 pound rifle.
