Savage 338 Lapua
PPU 250 grain. I guess I’m used to my 6.5 and 308 with thicker barrels. But I guess the 338 uses just a smidge more powder. ?- Toney198

Savage 338 Lapua
My dad bought a Savage 338 112 model I believe “single shot no magazine”. It will easily hold under MOA for four shots, then jumps to about two. It seams to have a heavyish barrel but also feels pretty warm by shot 5. I have no experience with this caliber and I know the savage is not top...- Toney198

RPR 22mag
I apologize if this is already been beat up, this weekend while visiting my dad and allowing/showing him longer range shooting is doable at his age, I shot his RPR 22mag. Disclaimer I’ve never been much of a Ruger fan past the 10-22. It felt light and kinda cheap, the action was not my Tikka...- Toney198

When I decided to start shooting “long range” I bought a Tikka Tac A1 6.5 creedmoor. It was a laser and was way easier than I expected. So being the hard head I am, I purchased a CTR in 308, put a night force ATCR 5-25 on it and bought a used mcRees chassis off the hide. I did a half ass barrel...- Toney198

I am looking to get him a 6.5 Grendel for next year. Never shot one so I’m unsure if the recoil will be to much for him, but figure that round will last him until he is ready for a “real” deer rifle.- Toney198
