    Insurance question.

I insured my Group M16 through USAA. Wanted to insure it for more than I paid since it had gone way up in value but they wouldn't do it without proof of the new value, which of course I couldn't provide since they sell so infrequently. I ended up insuring it for $18k which cost me $35/month...

Who's your Daddy? LRA bipod and Elite Iron Revolution direct comparison

"On the HTI, I can put the legs forward, parallel to the barrel for storage, but not backward because the side Picatinny rails on the HTI get in the way." If you rotate the legs 45 deg. they will nest nicely between the rails.

AR15 with 90 grain berger at 2905 fps, impossible? Not so much.

Just saw this and find it very interesting. I wonder how this cartridge would perform with LWRC's SIX8 receiver sets (probably in a DI configuration as I don't believe rifle length piston parts are available) which allows a COAL of 2.32" using Magpul magazines.

Suppressors Elite Iron .375 First Impressions

That's a TAB Gear cover and yes, it slides back easily over the barrel. It's the one that goes over the suppressor from the rear and so far it's stayed put.

Direct thread. I don't remember the thread pitch but EI knows what it is. They sent an indexing gauge to supposedly ensure that any POI shift is vertical only, and the EI logo is top dead center.

My youngest daughter (17) is a lefty but shoots right handed, so there's hope. ETA: I started her shooting around 4 years old on an air rifle (she always insisted on using ear plugs) and always had her shoot right handed. I believe starting so early prevented development of left-eye...

Suppressors Elite Iron .375 First Impressions

Without the distraction of the muzzle blast the recoil definitely stood out. It seemed to be a much longer stroke than I remember without the silencer, not particularly sharp, just long. Not sure if that makes sense. I have no desire to ever shoot this rifle again without the silencer, it...

You're right, awesome doesn't begin to describe how great it is. I just posted my first impressions on the Elite Iron .375 in the Suppressor section.

Suppressors Elite Iron .375 First Impressions

After a 9 month wait I picked up my Elite Iron .375 silencer on Friday and took it to the range for the first time this afternoon to try out on my Desert Tech HTI in .375 Cheytac. I've only fired this gun on a few other occasions and the impression was moderate recoil but brutal muzzle blast...

Does anyone make a thread protector for the HTI?

Is anyone running a silencer on their HTI? How's it working out? I'll be picking mine up in the next couple of days and hope to shoot with it next week.

    375 cheytac bore guide

Unless something has changed in the past year Mike Lucas won't do a bore guide for the .375. Neither will Neil Jones.

You're right, I shouldn't have made such a broad statement. I believe he was referring to a general starting point using using the 800 gr. bore riders we were both shooting at the time. I can't comment on elevation since he shoots all over the country. My apologies.

The general rule of thumb for the 50 at 1000 yards is 28 MOA with a 100 yd. zero. That's what Lee Rasmussen told me at least. I think he'd know.

Quality invevestments made by the Russians, and some help for an interesting American

I wonder where Seagal got his "several 338 Lapua-Norma Magnum rifles" that he mentions at 6:30 in the third video. That's a new one to me. I guess these super-ninja actors can get things us mere mortals can't even imagine. <barf>

My dealer recently told me it was taking 8 weeks so yours looks about right. It helped me decide to pay a few dollars more and go with an in-state dealer.
