    .375 Cheytac questions

    I'm using a 50 cal L.E. Wilson trimmer. You can call them up and either have them make a case holder based on the fired and resized cases I sent them (fired from a DTA-HTI) or send three fired cases from your gun. It only took about two weeks to get it.

    What are the best current options for a .375 HTI suppressor? TBAC says maybe next year, Ron Allen is building (has built?) one for himself. I've become spoiled and don't like to shoot anything without a suppressor any more and want to buy once without regrets.

    A member here, mudvayne (Chase), has stated he has a place to shoot up to 3000 yards in Washington County, which is about an hour NW of Houston. He hasn't been around the forum for a while so I don't know if the offer is still open. Does anyone know how to get in touch with him?

    cleaning rod size for .22

    For whatever it's worth, I've noticed that Ivy Rods uses two different sizes for 22 rimfire and 22 centerfire, .187" vs. .203". They also list the .187" rod for .20 caliber. I really need to order one of these for the 452.

    Who's running a silencer on their .375, what are you using and how does it perform? Any chance of a run of .375's by Thunder Beast?

    When I spoke to CC I got the impression that they would only make dies with a 1 3/8" body. I planned on using a Hollywood turret press and didn't want to have to bush it down, so I called Dave Viers and am happy with the dies and turnaround time (around 2 weeks).

    1-8" twist 30 caliber barrels are generally meant to fire very heavy, 220-250 grain bullets, often subsonic. I'm really surprised to see this twist rate as a standard offering.

    Finally got the .375CT dies and my HTI should be in next week. What would be a good starting powder charge for Retumbo, Bertram brass, 350 SMK's, and Fed GM215M primers? I've seen that some people are using 131-133 grains of Retumbo but I'm not sure about the gun or bullets. I'm at about 350'...

    Whats out there for tabletop tripods?

    Ashbury QEL? Pricey if you buy new but you can occasionally find good deals on ebay. I picked up three a few months ago for around $200 each. Haven't used them much but so far I like them.

    Which 6.5??

    If you're willing to go long action take a look at the 6.5 Swede or one of it's variants. Lapua makes brass for it and it's one of the most efficient cartridges out there.

    I managed to get 48# of Retumbo from Powder Valley before they stopped taking back orders. Figured that would be enough to wear out a barrel.
