DBMG barrel conversion still in business?

Last time I talked with Dennis, he was pretty busy making the AR57 uppers. He had an order for several thousand so he couldn't do a build for me at that time, but that was 2 yrs ago.

    Primer Question

I've used the Fed, CCI and Rem primers for yrs in the ar with no problems. I did have one slam fire releasing the bolt on a full mag of PMC once but that's it, knock on wood. I hope I didn't jinx myself.

CZ 455 Lilja group buy! Updated with who is back ordered and who is not!!!!

I've already pillared and partially bedded the action in the front and the tang areas only. A very snug fit. Now I'm just wondering if the barrel might need pressure pads. I also stoned the sear and cut the trigger spring a little. It feels better now than my friends with a Timney. Smooth...

CZ 455 Lilja group buy! Updated with who is back ordered and who is not!!!!

Trying for pics now. Found plenty of clearance between barrel and stock, at least two business cards. Balance point has moved forward a little. Can't wait to try it out, maybe tomorrow. As you all can see, I'm no Bob Cummings as a picher taker (does that date me as older than most?).

CZ 455 Lilja group buy! Updated with who is back ordered and who is not!!!!

Received my barrel Friday after coming back from trying out a FA Criterion barrel on the MATEN. The Lilja install went smooth as expected. The only difference I've found so far was closing the bolt took more downward pressure to lock up. Will probably go shooting Monday to try it out. Thanks...

    Rifles to avoid?

I've only bought one complete AR, a Rock River. I've also only put together 12 (yes I said put together, because I buy the barrel assembled, meaning extension on and headspaced, which I do check). I just like the fact that I can put whatever together any configuration I want without having to...

    Rifles to avoid?

I don't understand how you could possibly screw up the headspace since it is set by the barrel maker. Unless the op is going to build the barrel assembly his self. The only thing you can do is check it or maybe by trial and error, finding a bolt that'll bring it within spec.

    Rifles to avoid?

I totally agree with not wanting a Hesse or whatever they're called now. But the best barrel I've ever bought was an Olympic SUM. It even shot better than my CLE Krieger. As far as buying a complete Oly, aah no. Like said, hit or miss. There was a time when their stainless ultramatch broach...

Mega 10 Barrels. Review Coming Soon! **Pic Heavy**

If you'd read the Rainier statement, their Ultramatch barrels are made from Shilen blanks. They are chambered and finished by a subcontracted machine shop close by. As for Mega, when I told Jason I knew their source, he immediately contacted my dealer/friend and admonished him for disclosing...

Gunsmithing Stripped Allen Screw Head in McRee Stock

It seems to me that a lot of buttonhead and flathead capscrews have shallow holes, so I've always found it easier and faster to just drill off the head.

Mega 10 Barrels. Review Coming Soon! **Pic Heavy**

This video is all I could find at the moment, but on Bergara's site, they had a write up of such (which I can't find). Also, I had a problem with a 20" Mega barrel which I met with Jason of Mega about. I told him I had a barrel that looked like the lands were smeared at the throat. Upon...

Mega 10 Barrels. Review Coming Soon! **Pic Heavy**

The Mega barrels do not start as a Shilen blank. Do some research and you will find that Mega uses a barrel company that was aided by Shilen during start up in Spain. The company now makes blanks and some complete barrels in the US now also. (Bergara)

Disappointed with a recent Rem 700 SPS Tactical .223 purchase (manufacturing defects)

I just went through Remington to have a barreled action replaced. They destroy your old serial number and replace with a new one. No ffl required. Have done this twice and that is my experience. And they can ship right to your door.

Rem 700 detachable magazine advce request

Other than a couple of AICS, I only have experience with three dbm from CDI and the BO on a mini chassis from Manners. I find the BO a little too tight for quick mag insertion compared to the CDI. Both do drop empty mags on command, but personally, I like the easier mag insertion of the...

Ready to purchase a barrel now...

A couple of weeks ago I traded a .223 LTR and Zeiss scope for a Mega Maten in .260. The reason for trading is I already have a custom .223 and a 7ooP in .223. I've also got two custom .308s and a custom 6.5x47 so staying with the 6.5s I wanted a .260. Since it is a gasser, I didn't want to...

    Gunsmithing .260 modified case

I just made one. I used a 3/16 drill bit (actually calls for an oddball size that I didn't have, but this works) and drilled out the flashhole of a fired case and threaded it. You want a loose neck so that the bullet will slide up to the lands easily without any pressure. This makes for more...

    Manners Mini Chasis Question

I just got a T4-A and set it up 65 front and 45 rear. Went to the range and was getting two distinct groups, so evidently something was moving. Torqued both to 65 and all is good, at least with me. Still might skim bed the tang like on both of my AICS chassis.

Rem 700 detachable magazine advce request

I would think as long as the bottom metal can be held flush with the bottom of the stock and the holes line up straight, then yes.

    Duck Creek Armory ARs

I know, a month late. You must live around the Seattle area where guns are considered evil and nobody should own one. My local WalMart in Longview carries ARs. And so do quite a few others in Wa.
