    Chassis Manufacturers Please Read.

The manufacturer could always allow a 30 day return policy with a refund minus a percentage. The way I see it is the buyer pays full price with the option of return. The manufacturer can use the returned chassis as a "rental" per say or sell it at a discount that reflects the previous return...

    The Polished Turd

Which stock did you start with before you added the cheek riser, flush cups, camo'd and textured? Did you also modify the grip besides textured?

    Gunsmithing Remmy 700 bolt issues

I've had this happen a few times with the mark x triggers that are adjusted just a tad too light. What always fixes the problem is to slightly increase the trigger return spring pressure. 1/8-1/4 turn will usually do it. The pressure of the trigger spring pushes the trigger forward so that it...

    Brass Buildup on Bolt

I see the same brass color on one rifle the I run a 0 chamber on and size my brass to the same. I just remove it with some solvent whenever I clean. I wouldn't worry about it unless you're getting shavings, then I would think about adjusting/tuning your extractor. You might check the...

    Rock CReek prefit recoil lug

I wasn't aware that Rock Creek made prefits for the Remington action. You mention a nut. Does this mean they are similar to the Savage set up? Does this also mean that the chamber end of the barrel is 1.062" in diameter? Just curious.

First OCW results with 6.5 Creedmor, need some advice

I agree with Trail Rider on the smaller increments. Then I'd look for three groups where the center of the groups are very near the same spot. Then make loads in smaller increments until you find the one you're happy with and then fine tune with seating depths. Make sure you shoot your groups...

    sticky bolt on .308 loads

First I'd look into your ammo, then the front action screw, then I would suspect your extractor. When they go bad, they are hard to lock up and they either put a crease into the edge of the case rim or shaves a little off.

    cleaning out lead fouling

I use some copper chore boy on my pistols. Cut some off the pad and wrap it around a bore brush and push it out. Make sure it's the all copper and not the copper coated stainless.

shootig with bullets close to the lands

That is why a lot of people advocate seating to the lands and finding max load then back off before proceeding with load development.

    10/22 questions

Is your extractor going into the extractor cut in the barrel cleanly? I'd also look at your firing pin strikes. I'd replace one part at a time with the originals until it becomes reliable again and go from there. Ok, I'm a retired millwright from the Fibre. Where do you work? Weyco, Nor Pac...

Trigger for a cz 455 precision trainer?

I cut the spring by 1.5 or 2 coils. Then I looked at how much sear engagement I had and proceeded to stone the sear some. Now I can have a nice light pull for the bench or adjust it up for carrying. The take up is almost undetectable. Now I don't see me spending any money on a kit or a new...

    CZ 455 3/8" or 11mm dovetail help!

I've never seen or used windage rings, but I'm assuming the left and right clamps are independent of each other. So if my thinking is right, you'd loosen the left side clamps and tighten the right side clamps until aligned where you want. Have you looked into a scope base that slips onto the...

Im supposed to go shooting in this?

To me, the only thing worse than humping out the targets in the deep stuff is finding and picking up your brass.

Gunsmithing Cost for new barrel install/action truing?

For this one I used John Beagle out of Ridgefield, Wa. For an earlier build I used the owner of DBMG out of Kent, Wa. He was even cheaper. $325 for the same work plus threading the muzzle. But he might be super busy right now since he got the contract to build the 5.7 ARs for FNH.

Gunsmithing Canted trigger in 700 action...

I would definitely say the lug is off set. If you have the vise and action wrench, easy fix. If not, you could hog out the lug opening for the stock on the side that interferes with the lug, might have to touch the bottom also.

scope for my new CZ 455 varmint evolution

I've been using a Millet TRS-1 mil/mil and so far it's working out pretty well. Got it used here on the Hide for under $200.
