    10x is do-able for your stated task, but I would strongly prefer more mag myself. Maybe a vortex razor lht 3-15 or bushnell lrhs?

    Best optic under $800

    Sightron Siii 6-24 ffp (not quite 25x). Just use burris sig xtr rings to have the bottom of travel as your zero stop and have ALL adjustment available. Simple mil reticle or mil-hash Xmas tree.

    Any love for x-caliber barrels?

    I'm 5 for 6 excellent accuracy. 1 6.5cm on a GAP Lawton 7000 that I haven't found a great load for yet. I think it'll be 6 for 6 by the end of summer.

    $340 seems high to me, unless there is some collector value I'm not aware of. T24s and T36s go for $300-350, 10s and 16s less IME.
