Rifle Scopes SWFA-SS Tax Day Group Buy: 1-6, 5-20, and more!

Re: SWFA-SS Tax Day Group Buy: 1-6, 5-20, and more! All you have to do is go to a few matches and see the extent to which SWFA supports the shooting community, and it is quite evident that they are a good company worth supporting. Not only that, they make an exceptional product that really...

$1 per bullet and a free set of scope rings

Re: $1 per bullet and a free set of scope rings I would pay for that kind of performance. That's a pretty small price to pay for a 20% BC increase. I think a lot of people are looking at this from the wrong perspective. The post says this bullet would offer a 20% BC increase over the...

Official (DTA) SRS, HTI, Covert, Hunter Thread

Re: Idea! Official DTA SRS, HTI, Covert, Hunter Thread The cheek weld can be customized by going with a scope base optimized to your desired height. I know it's kind of a backwards way of going about it, but there are getting to be some high quality one-piece scope mounts that have a wide...

    DTA caliber dilemma

Re: DTA caliber dilemma I'm really happy with my 284 Win conversion made by SAC. It's just a hair behind the 7 SAUM concerning ballistics, will have better barrel life, will feed a lot better than a 7 SAUM, and has relatively cheap components. One thing to keep in mind when going with...

Re: Idea! Official DTA SRS, HTI, Covert, Hunter Thread I hope everyone at DTA doesn't make broad assumptions about DTA owners on the Hide just because of a vocal few. If you look at the vast majority of the posts in this 135 page thread, most are of happy customers. Sometimes it's easy to...

Re: DTA Quality and Customer "Service" I don't think there is necessarily a problem with the Gen 1. I would simply say that the Gen 2 is less susceptible to abusive use. I have used mine for years as well and have had zero problems with it, and I have four conversions which I regularly...

Action for a 300 Norma build

Re: Action for a 300 Norma build +1 on having Robert at RWS Gunsmithing build it for you. He built mine and the workmanship is as good as it gets. Turnaround time was also very quick, and his prices are more than fair.

Rifle Scopes Spuhr Mount feedback thread with pictures.

Re: Spuhr Mount feedback thread with pictures. Thunderbolt, I have three Near Alphamounts and use the Spuhr on my DTA. The Spuhr will not leave you wanting even when compared to the Alphamount. Go with the high model which I believe is around 1.46" high. I would also go with the 44.4. MOA...

    Riser for DTA

Re: Riser for DTA You could probably sell the NEAR rings for most of what you paid for them. If you decide to sell the NEAR rings, my recommendation for rings with a S&B on a DTA would be a Spuhr 34mm, 40 MOA cant, high mount. I believe the height is around 1.46" on that model. I currently...

1500+ Yards with 20" or shorter barrel?

Re: 1500+ Yards with 20" or shorter barrel? I had a 338 Norma with a 20" barrel that I shot out to 1500 yards. It pushed the 300 grain Berger at 2625 fps. The 338 Norma seemed to do really well in a shorter barreled rifle. You should be able to attain your goals with a 20" 338 Norma.
